Pre-paids are pouring in, great to see quite a few being downloaded through here. The more pre-paids the higher we might make the prize draw.
Good to see direct crediting working too, makes it a bloody site easier.

No because I would not win it!
The publican has a ride in hiding somewhere I believe and there is at least one other biker in the valley that lives closer to the pub than me.
But then there are about 9 of us here is this lovely place .

Whadda weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PRIMO!!!!! :first:
Left home bout 11.15 Fri.. twas beautiful day in paradise.. warm & sunny.. bike was humming.. I was singin at the top of me lungs.. weekend away from kidletts.. what more could ya ask for!!? :Punk:
Had an awesome run up & over the Whangamoas!! Followed a cop for a while, outa Nelson.. then he kindly pulled over & let me pass, then proceeded to follow me for a while.. sooo just coming up to the hill, I passed the camper van in front.. leaving not quite enough time for him to pass too.. then left him behind & enjoyed the hill.. in peace!! :shake:
Onto Blenheim for a pit stop then headed towards Kaikoura. Man.. there is a shitload of work been done on reshaping the landscape through there.. to accommodate the multitude of vineyards!!! whole hilltops have been removed & the land turned into gentle rolling slopes, covered with grapes, almost as far as the eye can see!! & by god, is it DRY over there!!! duno how da hell anything can actually GROW in those conditions!!?
anyhooo.. stopped at Kaikoura for a some lunch, then tootled on. Absolutely gorgeous ride down the coastline, till the road works on the Hundalees slowed things down a little! gorgeous riding to be had down through Parnassus & Cheviot! Pulled into the rally site bout 5pm & proceeded to setup the clubs marquees & my tent etc. Was a gorgeous twilight evening.. a perfect end to daylight savings..
Rest of the club arrived. Had a few entries Fri night.. (still waiting for official confirmation of numbers..) & a bloody good time was had by all!! :drinknsin
Sat dawned.. raining.. :crybaby: It drizzled on & off for most of the day.. but the rally goers still came!! spent most of my day working on the gate & thoroughly enjoyed meself! Best part was getting to sign Tim & Karla in.. (Tim had arrived in the country from USA.. lunchtime Fri!!!! whereupon Karla & I then promptly organised for him to get to the rally!! ) Welcome to NZ Tim!! & Karla.. you're a TOP chick!!
A most enjoyable evening was spent.. the usual way at rallies.. sinking a few Baileys.. catching up with old mates.. meeting new ones.. & participating in the "events".. namely the horizontal bungee.. ( a heap of inner tubes linked together to form a chain..) with the end one put round ya waist.. then see who can get the furtherest in distance across the lawn.. before either a) you trip & fall & the bungee flies down & off your ankles at a great rate of knots leaving you lying face down in the damp grass.. gasping for breath from the exertion.. or b) you trip & fall & get dragged backwards at a great rate of knots & in a very undignified manner as the rubber recoils back to it's original heap tied to the tree trunk. Also there was there "keg toss".. (to see who is the biggest tosser..) I didn't win either.. but scored a large tin of chain wax & a kick arse bike lock.. from the winner.. who owns a belt drive bike.. with solid wheels.. cheers babe :2thumbsup

The band cranked up.. so dancing into the wee hours was called for.. till they packed up.. WAAAAAYYYY too early.. & left us wanting... :spanking: The pub manager (who put the band on..) has been spoken to bout rectifying that for next year..
So.. venture forth we did.. to a house truck parked down in the camp.. with some pretty decent sounds cranking & a bonfire blazing. The chick in the bus was a pretty decent flute player.. & played along to some Tull & other stuff.. very cool! Many a funny convo was had, drink was drunk, flames stared at, & the wee hours ticked by.. till I decided it was time to lay down my weary head.. at 5am!! :innocent: for an hour or two of sleep..
The day dawned a tad cloudy, but that lifted soon enough! As per rally usual.. the bikes started rolling out of camp at ungodly early hours.. so I stayed snuggled up & left them to it.. & crawled out bout 9! quick shower to revive the jaded brain cells & time to pack up. We (my club) left camp bout 11.45ish & headed en mass through Scargill to Waikari.. where me & a mate headed Norf & the ChCh lot, headed Souf. (I always hate that bit!!) :crybaby:
Had a reasonable ride home, via the Lewis. wasn't piss crook.. but was rather sleep deprived.. Was truly gorgeous riding up towards Culverden, with the mountains & blue skies, & the open road stretching forward, framing my view! Heading down the Springs side of the Lewis Pass & the road just after the Maruia Pub, was sooo incredibly beautiful.. with the sun glinting in places through the Beech forest that lines both sides of the road.. it's almost like riding through a tunnel of native bush! Much needed caffeine fix at Lewis, then onto my favourite piece of road from Springs to Murch!! :wari: then through a primo section of 65,75 & 85k sweepers that leads out to the Hope Saddle.. another of Nelson's fine motorcycling playgrounds!!
Quick stop at the Kohatu to say cheerio to my riding buddy, then headed for home. Got in bout 5.15.. & put the jug on for yet another coffee.. unloaded the bike, went & got a decent feed from the Roast House.. had a looooong soak in a hot bath, with lotsa candles & a good book. Crawled into bed bout 8.30.. read for another hour.. then crashed for the next 13!!!!
A TOP weekend! Awesome to put some faces to names.. Karla, Timk & Iggy.. catch up with some old faces again, & also point some new faces in the KB direction!!
770ks & got home to find that I had not taken 1 single photograph of the entire weekend.. ahh well.. lotsa fine piccys in my memory banks..
Thanks to all those who supported our rally.. & thus supported the Cholomdondely Children's Home.. :Punk:
The End..
