I reckon it's a great looking bike, old school cool. Don't know about the quality of older guzzis tho. Heaps of guzzi experts on kb though. I reckon they will be able to tell ya.

Don't know too much but heard they aren't too bad off road- heavy though.

I thought they stopped making them in 1986?

That is a freaking sweet bike. Did Guzzi ever do Dakar? Looks like those crazy aftermarket-framed BMW twins they made for the event.

only thing i dont like is the little tank- 13litres aint much gas for a guzzi motor. but that old school looks cool, its growing on me.

shit thats a big tank on that bugga, looks comfy and looks like you can fit a shit load of luggage on her.

You can fit a decent amount of luggage on any bike. The trick is to only take what you really need. Most people take too much. I'm doing a tour of the south island in feb and should fit everything I need in the two panniers with the tent strapped on the rack. It's the south island not Tierra del Fuego. As for the motoguzzi...... well be careful very careful! At least it doesn't have the 4 valve heads.

i was wondering about reliabilaty and stuff as its an older model.

and lets face it - the small block models never 'quite' had the rep for reliability that the big blocks did...

But - they are a bike that responds well to a proper maintenance schedule and all the weird faults are well known. If you like working on bikes and can do your own work you would be fine - if not - avoid...

yeah was worried about that,

The quota on trademe is a real nice beastie.
Less maintenance than the TT

As far as general chook chasers go I reckon it looks good, & well it sounds way better for a start.
Yeah the older bikes have something about them. Wish I could have a collection. If we had a warehouse & money, I'll have a bike for everyday of the week. (who needs shoes!--never could understand that)

...

The small blocks are shit, cheapo allen bolts, frames that rust while you watch, built to a buget and not in the main factory for the most part.

I have 3 of them so I'm not biased I just like Guzzis:o

It reminds me of the time that I bought a mint Honda City turbo off Trademe for $2. Then the seller sent me an email saying that they had missed a few 0s from the asking price. Pissed me right off it did.
