rg150 oil and petrol ratio?

Hey all I've just found out that my RG150 is running to rich and was wondering wat the best ratio is when mixing it myself? Or is there anyway to make less oil from the oil tank mix in with the petrol??

What makes you think this? And what is it you think?

When people say rich it often means fuel to air ratio. But need to be certain we are talking about oil ratio.

It is of course metered out by the pump.

Why do you think it is metering out too much?

For a start check the cable that runs to the pump is fully seated home & not hung up where it pushes in. Do a search on this site & I believe you will find a manual to download, this will help check pump adjusted correctly.

Why mix the oil oneself? For racing? Some suzis need to be modified to run premix, (RGV150 for example) although I'd guess the RG150 may not.

But swapping to premix will change the jetting (air to petrol mix as the oil takes some of the petrol's volume). This may be fine if jetted rich but if not then could cause the bike to go lean (again we are talking air to petrol mix, not oil). This would cause seizure if too lean.

Unless you're racing it, and the few grams weight is important (or your pump is stuffed) , using pre-mix isn't going to solve any problems. And will most likely give you a few more.

Agreed - 'Running too rich' is normally talking about air to fuel ratio, not how much oil the pump is feeding the motor.

First thing to do is check your air filter, does it need cleaning? This could cause the 'Rich' problem.

The pump is 'stuffed' and is leaking oil slowly when not turned on but still does its job.

Took the bike into machanics today and he said 1 of the bolts in the power valves is broken (Which is what happened to the other powervalve) but it has not flogged the valve (which is wat happened to the other one which needed a new powervalve($300)) so is fixable. Because the bolt and nut broke, it cause the powervalves to stop moving and were stuck halfway open/shut causing it to 'bog' in low revs which can be very annoying around town.

You are write, it is bringing in to much air and not oil :Oops: but that is fixed now.

P.s I checked the air filter and it is clean as a whistle ;)
