View Full Version : Cheeky cry for help!

OK, this thread is gonna be immensely cheeky of me, considering there are many others out there in the same boat but I'm desperate as hell so I'm gonna give it a go.

Erm. Basically, does any one know any one that might be interested in my bike?... I'm aware that this is slightly rude of me to single myself out but I need to do this.

I'm selling my 1990 NC30... I really need to shift it because it's the only way I can afford to get back to the UK in a short amount of time and it's becoming more and more urgent, due to personal reasons.

If you know anyone who might be interested, would you be able to forward them a link to my TradeMe ad (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=138200623&ed=true)? If any of you guys can help me out here, then you're an amazing person.

Again, I understand that this is exceptionally cheeky of me, so I don't need telling. I wasn't anticipating having so much trouble with this issue.

Cheers guys.

with 73,000km on it you might want to lower the price a bit

Not cheeky.

Everyone does it.

You should also put you add in the On-line trading section of KB.

What would you suggest?

I don't really have a great idea of how prices go here. Bikers over here are more wary of bikes with high k's than in the UK.

Thanks Yellow Dog. I did post up but it got deleted, so may have to have a go at doing that again. I did a normal post but that dropped off the page fairly quick.

Have posted on Trade Me, Trade and Exchange, Motorcycle Trader, the NZ Superbike Forum and... No, that's it so far. Think I will redo the Online Trader thread on here, hopefully will not screw up this time and have nothing to lose.

I'm thinking 4k?

So long as you keep your images small, there should not be a problem.

OK, I have sorted that now, thank you.

I have lowered my price to 4000 but there is a '91 NC30 on there atm, with slightly less k's and going for the same price.

So now I am thinking that 3800 would be more appropriate? I really want this bike to sell soon but I don't want to put the price so cheap that it looks like there might be something up with it when there's not. Also, I can't go very low because I need a plane ticket etc. out of this.

If anyone reads this that might have some idea, can I ask what you would pay if you were looking for a bike like this?

This thread is making me look a bit hopeless on the subject. Well at least it's accurate if nothing else.

1 doller reserve it. You will ofton get more than what ti is actually worth.

Small problem with $1 reserve auctions.
Somewhere near to the end of the auction TM remove the "Remove Auction Option".
Hasnt always been like this, but you end up with someone only bidding 1/2 the amount your expected return... and what are you going to do then ??

Hi, thanks for the suggestions. I don't have an auction running at the minute, just a classified ad, as I didn't have the $60 odd at the time to run an auction.

Perhaps an auction will be more successful than an ad.

As they bloody well should - you can't go removing $1 reserve auctions just because you haven't got as much as you wanted. If you have minimum amount you want, that should be your reserve. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

At 73000 ks and the fact that I'd have to pay for shipping to Auckland I'll offer $3300.

Change your wanted ad to an auction, then you'll get it's value. I'd start it at $2k and see where it goes :)

100% agree with this. Selling the cage on tardme no one could be arsed emailing you . Once i set up a auction questions come and people offer decent cash. You should deffinitly change the auction imo:niceone:
