The Wellington Sevens is just as much a "family event" as it is a rugby competition. It is nothing more than a piss-up and excuse for the lewd and lascivious to which seven-aside rugby games provide a backdrop in the centre of the arena. The whole reason for attending is not to watch the footie. It is to watch and be part of The Crowd. People who expect it to be anything else are deluded. Including the organisers, it appears.

It cracked me up when I read the feedback on Stuff yesterday.... The majority of people think that this kind of "policing" is way over the top. Bloody PC brigade. Im not sure when the Sevens has evere been a "Family Event"! Though its the same old story....
