Limbimtimwim thinks he can ride his GHEY Unicorn powered NC35 VFR400 to victory as the fastest 400 at the sprints!
DREAMER!
My trusty ol' NC21 is gunna kick your arse!:2guns:
It may only put out 22 gigatrons of benchracerpower but converting that to compare to your 326 Unicornpower at the wheel puts me as the winner easy.:girlfight:
Bloody poof.
I will buy ya a doz if you beat my previous best or my best time on the day in the Flying.
7.04Seconds, 127.73Mph or 205.57kph.
Anyone else got a four hundie they can bring along to the sprints to get whooped too?

Hmmmm. Influence of weight on a motorcycle at it's maximum speed? I guess the tyres would squash more. I might be rude enough to suggest some slight additional air resistance. The bike may still be accelerating when it hits the start of the quarter. We might even find someone putting dodgy shit in their petrol tank again ;)
It's going to be close, but I've voted for the one with the most vowels and that's how I'll stay.

The VFR series gained weight thru its life too...
Mine SHOULD be a fair bit lighter than the '35, It even has the flexish vauge frame and forks to prove it!
Dumbarse mixup in my original post too, I did mean to say FLYING quarter.
Standing best is a lowly 13.4. ya need a bit more skill to do well in that!
For the flying you just be small and open the throttle.

Limpy could wear nothing but a tight lycra suit, that might improve his chances a bit, or is that sort of safety gear against the rules?
At high end speeds the only thing that really matters is wind resistance as it increases exponentially with speed as we know.

I'll have my full fairing on, got a new windscreen, I'll take the mirrors off, plus I've got my custom made straight through muffler which is 1/4 of the weight of a standard muffler, and I'll go on hunger strike until the day and the shock is currently being rebuilt. I must win this time!

Fuck. Though it's happened to my brother's MXer twice now so it's not as fatal as it would be for a 4 stroke, hopefully
'fraid not, shock won't be done in time. It's not a long job, just parts have to come in from Japan. It'll be nice and new afterward though. And I didn't fix up the VFR enough to give the sprints another shot really. Hole in exhaust, headstem bearings, still haven't got the parts sussed for the dry nitrous system, need new fibreglass for the muffler (needs more stuffed in there, still a bit hollow inside I think), etc.

Jim2 just use a bit of sunblocker for your safety gear, and as for one hand Koba that's a bit off they don't like it, its the only way we ever extracted the max out of our dirt bikes on the road especially in strong winds. Much of my youth at Uni in Christchurch was spent lying on the tank hanging on one handed when riding between Little River and Taitapu - geez its as windy as Welly down there, and we did the same racing our dirt bikes down the front straight at Ruapuna during Uni Motorclub events and they never complained one bit back then.

Interesting and altho I did win I'm kinda gutted for Limbimtimwim as I was more like him not winning than me losing, if that makes sense?
177 makes it very clear that somthing was not right with the little RVF.
Bummer.
Clivoris on his luvley prettypainted CBR400 was the real challenge.
Again the results don't tell all.
His bike seemed to have more potential but was let down on the top speed by running out of gears.
He beat me by a half second or so in the standing (quite alot!)
I't wont be that easy for me next time when the RVF has been sorted and the CBR has taller gearing.
Hopefully Jim2 and some other 400's come along next time, If anyone reading this knows someone with a 400...
It would be nice to have some competition from some non-ghey 400s! ;)

Doug got 225 on an FZR400 time before last but I either had a 600 head or whole 600 engine in it so may or may not be a real 600 cee cees.

Shit, I knew VFR's could do that. Why did you get such a different speed from last time though? Running it on standard fuel? :p

Ran on lower octane than last time, had new plugs and ripped the regulator out of my fuel tap. also took my mirrors off rather than just folding them back and perfected my crouch. ran right down the white line in the centre on my fastest run.
Think all that put together netted the extra 7kays.
Oh, and of course differnt day, different power and all that.
It was cooler than last time but still damn farken scorching!
Aerodynamics Count for a heluva lot at that end of a bike performance. Putting all your fairings on would make a huge difference.
As would doing the valve clearances on BOTH heads. Doing just one would have probably made it worse as having things even in a multi cylinder is very important.
Aslong as a higher kays bike is working right it should probably go just as good, or even better than one barley or not broken in (neither of ours!)

I had the lower fairings on for the last few weeks. Haven't put them back on since doing the filter.
Valve clearances were only checked on the rear cylinders and were within tolerances and I'll hopefully check the front ones myself. They haven't been tampered with so shouldn't be hurting performance unless the front ones have deteriorated more than the rear.
The rear brake pads were so badly fucked that I was ashamed for ever letting them get so bad but didn't have the money to do anything about it. They had burnt through to the metal and that was slowing the bike down a fair bit. Also got a new 160/60 tyre which should bump up the gear ratios a bit over the last 140/60.
Don't know why I'm putting more and more money into it cause whenever I look at it I want to smash it to pieces. I'm looking at getting a scooter as an upgrade
