damnit. i wasn't able to fight the power long enough. i finally went in and got my cage learners. i figured it was necessary since riding to cadets in uniform is silly. if my uniform gets creased, I'm officer food. so I'm only going to cage to and from cadets, and my basic handling skills test ;). havent got that one booked yet as woolworths hasn't called back telling my I've got a job . don't worry though, I'm not going to buy my own cage either, just borrow my parents' cages.
how many people went down the same track as me and got their cage before their motorcycle license? i just want to know I'm normal.

Yeah, I did, as I started driving a car before I had my first bike. Only just though - got both within a couple of months of each other. Truck licence didn't come till nearly 10 years later.

It's sensible to have a car license. We dont like to admit it, but cars are actually a lot more useful than bikes some of the time. Me and the missus have one car in the household, which I find is ample. I got sick of spending so much money maintaining two cars, so my main mode of transport is my bicycle these days.

Bike licence in 1970, HT licence in 1973. (Cop just gave me a car licence at the same time as HT, but I never applied for or ever sat a car licence).

Got my car and bike learners at the same time. Up to my bike full and I've held my car learners for 3 years :yeah:

I got my full car, full light truck, full heavy truck, and fork hoist licences all before I got my motorcycle learner. I got my motorcycle restricted 3 months ago, and got my full trailer ( for truck and trailer ) licence last week. Just got to get R, W, and T licences now. So yeah you're as normal as you can expect to be.
