Hi, I am getting married on the 15th of March 08. I would love to have a few bikes leading my wedding car on the day. I would ask all my biker buddies but they are all part of the wedding and its kind of hard taking your bike gear to a wedding. Is there anyone out there who would be interested to ride from Hillsborough to Mission bay on the 15th? It would absolutely make may day if this is possible.
Thanks

Gidday, what sort of bikes are you wanting?
Sports, tourers or cruisers? old or newish bikes?
and presumably all clean and polished..
What time of day are you wanting bikes and riders to assemble?
I take it that you have a route all planned........

Set up a calender event and ask people to sign up for the event - that way you will know how many bikes will be coming.
I would have to check to see if I was working or not closer to the time, but sounds like a great idea!

Hi,
Any kind of bike really, I prefer to ride sports bikes but a variety of bikes would look stunning I think. Bikes dont need to be in absolutely supreme condition but hopefully it will be reasonably clean (not mud all over :-D).
I will be leaving Hillsborough the latest at 3:20, to arrive in Missionbay at 4pm. So to gather around 3pm would be good, give people enough time to arrive. Yup got a route all planned.

"Wedding trashed by bikers"
An Auckland woman's wedding was destroyed by more than 100 bikers yesterday, after she posted an open invitation online for bikers to accompany the procession.
Cars were overturned and burned, and a North Shore bar was looted and had all its windows and tables smashed.
The invitation, posted on the popular motorcycling site "Kiwibiker" inspired 10 Kiwibiker members to attend.
However, the invitation was also seen by the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club and another unnamed Auckland gang, and more than 100 patched riders attended, then became unruly when they were refused entry to the reception.
The angry and drunk bikers trashed the wedding, smashing cars in the cortege, overturning one. They then rode to a local bar, harrassing patrons and smashing windows.
Inspector Steam of the Auckland police said 38 arrests were made and...

Hi
I am getting married on the 15th of March 08. I would love to have a biker escort in front and behind of my wedding cars. Since most of my biker buddies are wedding guests none of them are able to ride their bikes. Therefore I am inviting anyone whom are keen to join me on my way to the "wedding venue". Start and finish point will be given via pm. My ceremony starts at 4pm therefore I need to be leaving my house at the latest 3:20-3:30pm. So if people can start arriving at 3pm that would be great. I might take a few photos of the bikes if you dont mind ;-).
Preferably cleanish bikes ;-) not polished or anything but not covered in mud ;-). Any sort of bike will do sports, tourers and cruisers, just not scooters please, that is NOT a bike ;-). It will make my day completely if you guys can help me out. I am a biker chick by heart and if I had my way I would ditch the wedding car and take my bike, but it would not really do wonders for my dress not to mention ruining the hair do which you pay a fortune to get done! The more merrier! No wedding crashers please.

The rev is how you show your respect at an event like that... :) Good ride, please to have been able to attend, the bride looked like she was having fun.
On another note, when bikers started turning up, one yummy mummy went across the playground and grabbed little jonny - did she think we were there to cause trouble or sum'thin? LOL! Those kids will remember the bikes turning up and the noise forever.
Hey, Georgie, thanks for coming along.

Hey! Cheers for leading the way out west. I'd definitely got lost if I'd gone alone.
Did anyone on the ride lose a pair of sunnies? I picked up a pair in the car park in Mission Bay after most of the bikes had left.

Yup - mine - PM sent. I went diving across the bike to put my fingers in my sons ears when the revving started. Poor little bugger shat himself (I heard the wail of terror over the bikes!!!!) and I guess I knocked them off the seat/bike wherever they were as I did it.
I'd written them off.

Well, I thought you were an excellent first (well, second) time pillion. I seem to recall that you said something about that small quick takeoff being the best part of the ride  I was trying super hard to be well behaved...
