Looking for some input from all you out there on tyre choice. i am in need of some new tyres and would like to know peoples comments on which tyre they find good and sticky i am torn between the diablo supercorsa and the dragon supercorsa pro, or if anyone has any other suggestions that would be cool

My ZX10R has Continental Sport Attacks and they really stick, nice and progressive without the 'drop in' I had with the Supercorsa's.

The TL loves these tyres:innocent:

I really like the Diablo Supercorsa's, I had Dragon Supercorsa Pro's and they're great too, you just might not get them anymore. I have 120/70 & 190/55 and just love them, I have a V twin also.

Like Bossman I too have Continental Sport Attacks and I have found them exceptional (used Dunlop, Metzler, Pirelli's).

Contis' have the most lean angle of any tyre on the market and Conti also promote that if you dont like the Conti tyres within the first week, they will replace them for a tyre of your choice! Not a bad promo.

+1 on that comment, but i'm compereing them to Michelin Pilot Powers but I have'nt any problems with PP's either.
I will add, for on my part I have not yet had the chance to run the Contisport Attacks for long but I like them so far.

All the current sporty road tyres are pretty good, with the exception of anything from Bridgestone or Dunlop.

(I dunno about these BT002s Devil speaks of, but he likes Triumphs, so his judgment should obviously be considered suspect.)

I personally am a big advocate for Metzeler Sportec M3s, but each to their own.

Oh there's gonna be a stabbin.

BT002's are nothing like BT014's or BT015's which I dislike.
The 002's are an awesome tyre! Super sticky, stiff sidewall, hold their shape really well and have so far proved to provide acceptable wear, i'm on my second pair. Love them.

*googles BT002*

Oh, they're a race tyre. Well, duh. Race tyres are always awesome compared to street tyres. It's not really fair to compare BT002s to anything other than Racetecs, Power Races, RaceAttacks, etc.

What kinda mileage you getting on the Trumpy from them?

I'm glad you're not one of these men of dubious sanity who advocate BT014/5s. They're just not pleasant tyres to ride on. They feel like they don't grip.

In fact, the only guy I know on KB who likes BT014s is Enigma, and he only likes them because it's his cherished life-goal to be able to slide the rear end into corners, and proper sticky tyres make that difficult...

Ah there's two types of BT002's. The Street compound, and the race compounds (3 compounds, like a racetec).

I think i'm up to about 8,000 out of the bt002. In comparison, I got 10k out of a pilot power rear, and 13k out of an M3 (which I also rate highly).

That's bloody good mileage!! I'd be lucky to get 3k outa my Supercorsas :gob:

Ok-you got my attention-no-one seems to like Bridgestone 014s. My GSXR 600 k7 is on its second set. I have never had a moment with them. Why do you guys dislike them so much?I try to ride hard, but as a relative noob-have a loooong way to go. So, what do you guys recommend? I dont need an extremely agressive tyre because i dont have the ability to reach its potential. I am thinking-M3s or PPs or diablos. Your feedback please.

I had the stock Bridgestones on my gixxer 750, but changed to M3's for my second set of tyres. I'd never go back. The M3's handle better in dry and wet, they stick to the road and are very nice on the track. By comparison the Bridgestones felt like cheap plastic tyres similar to those you might find on a stock GN...

Having ridden on all of them, here's my precis:

Pirelli Diablos: Good road feel, the least grippy of the three, competent but uninspiring. A bit dated. They like to move around a bit; riding them takes some getting used to.

Michelin Pilot Powers: The opposite of the Diablos. The most grippy and the fastest to warm up, probably the best-performing tyre in your list, but seriously let down by their absence of road feel and glassy lack of feedback. You'll never push them anywhere near their limits, because you'll have no idea whether they're about to let go or not.

Metzeler Sportec M3s: Grippier than the Pirellis. You'll find the rear starting to power-slide on the track a bit sooner than the Michelins, but you won't find that limit on the road. Amazing road-feel; M3s give you a whole new confidence in your bike on all sorts of surfaces. My preferred road tyre.

That's all quite subjective, of course; anyone else who's ridden on the tyres is welcome to disagree with me!

I agree with Mr Random

Ditch the Bridgestones. You won't regret it.

I think we have found a winner! Due to fiscal considerations we may have to wear the bridgees out first-then bring on the Metzler love!!

I've actually got a set of M3s in the shed ready to go on as a set when I've worn out the 014s. I put a set of them on the last (of four) GSX-R1000 I owned. They were alright. I have had a good run out of Bridgestones... to each their own. When you find tyres that YOU like, stick with them

It depends on what you like and the tyre grip/wear is again dependent on the bike so take the advice from those with tl's rather than asking in general

I have just put a pair of michelin pilot sports on my R1. Find them great in the wet and hang in there pretty good when am out playing hard, done about 1500km and they look to be wearing well. Got mine for $449 the set.

Hey all thanks for all your advice it was good to get so much input and advice on different tyres i have decided to go for the metzlers which are being fitted on sat and then off to scrub them in will post a thread to let you all know how i rate them hopefully nice and sticky with no tyre spin.

BT002's (street) are sticky but I only get about 3k out of a rear and about 6k out of a front. I am going to try the Attacks next.

I love pilot powers. Currently have metzeler m3's but I don't really like them. They stick like shit to a blanket but don't seem very predictable. Came very close to a high speed highside at puke the other week. I also tried going from the 180 rear to a 190 and hated it (big tank slappers cos it raised the rear too much)

Have to say if it were me id be going for the pilot powers, i use power race but both my ma and pa use pilot powers on there sv650 and zx14, i took both bikes for a play around puke and the tyres easily outperformed the standard suspension
