My 'ol Steel framed Gixxxer 250 managed 102000 or so before the speedo cable snapped. I would have done at least another 5000 after that, probably more. Had a few minor problems with the cooling that combined with abuse blew the head gasket. Got a new one for $50 bucks tho, head wasn't warped so easy fix.
Oh and had to buy a new CDI and Pickups. Got a new Volty Regulator while I was at it too.
I had a fair bit of stuff done to it before I got it at around 80,000 kays.
Mainly due to crashes and muppet mechanics.
My GSX250 I bought at 28,000 kays as the 3rd owner, put it over 60 thou without any sign of any trouble before It got jammed between 2 cages.

I've done 13500 on mine and its in the shop being repaired at the moment. I think by the time I've gotten my full license I'd have done over 50000, provided it lasts that long.

Mine has done over 32000Ks, but as my speedo stopped working last month you can prob add ummmm 700k onto that.
Problems with the bike... quite a few from the moment I got it, but nothing major at all, just the usual stuff you have to do when you buy a second hand bike:
Mirror fell off
Brake lights replaced
Knob fell off clutch.... (when I dropped it)
Speedio not working
New Chain etc etc.

Well if it was working I could tell ya!
Do you assume your speed?
When a police officer pulls you over and asks "do you know how fast you were going?" Do you respond "felt like it was around the 105 mark"? And then the officer replies "You were doing 137". Then you say "Really? I thought all those cars were just going really slow".

You must pass the HOMO test . The Hitcher test of Orthographical Maturity Online (HOMO for short) . Alas, you have just failed it. Try again in six months time. In the meantime, keep learning, and keep the L plate on.

Never been pulled over. But if I do, which I prob will at some stage, I doubt very much it will be for speeding. You agree skel?

My bike now has 112,250kms on her clock....... and yes I also did see her go around the clock.... (Have pics in my old camera - must get them developed)
Original engine went until 106,777.4kms until something was done to the engine, by an unknown arsewipe, and I have since done the extra kms on her.
Never had a problem with it...... just the usual wear and tear on swing arm bearing...... etc .....
The bike has always had a regular oil change and general mainainence done on her.
Not bad for a wee cruiser, considering when I brought her she only had 2,800kms on her and she was already 3 years old. I have done all the rest of the kms on her, travelling all over the north Island and a lot of city travel.

Thats the secret
regular oil changes
i know its a car not a bike
still an engine at that and they can clock 1000 000km and use no oil nothing touched

Im coming up on 28,000 km's on my GSX. I got it at 12,000 from the first owner.
Still mechanically sweet, just got a new chain and sprocket, the only problems ive ever had were replacing a headlight bulb and the neutral light not working when the bikes warmed up, which I still havent sorted.
Other than that ive never regretted buying my GSX.

I was under the impression that since CBRs have cam gears instead of a cam chain then they go on forever and don't wear out... As opposed to say zxrs etc where around 50,000k you're looking at a new cam chain which puts a hole in your wallet! Well that's what I heard anyway :pinch:

I've calmed right down since the frost and grit showed up.
No sign of that tomorrow though :niceone:
I've owned the Hyosung for almost 7 months and done 15,000km, other than normal servicing I've only had to replace the chain. The standard shinko tyres (heaps of tread left) were replaced for better perfomance & a couple of other bits added but it's been very reliable.
