LED turn signals - who has them fitted?

I am ordering replacement turn signals for my Hornet - the stockers are huge!
Now I am not interested in those little micro ones - way too small to be safe. The Triumph Speed Triple has spunky ones but at $100 a pop - no way!

Anyway I have it down to two styles one is LED one halogen bulb - the only thing I have noticed recently on new cars is that some of the LED turn signals are hard to see in bright sunlight.

Who has LED signals fitted and is this an issue - any comments from riding, mates behind you?

I've got LEDs on my bike. I can't see them at any time, mainly cos I'm riding the bike at the time I'm using them.
However, I have been told that in direct sun, they're hard to see. I have thought about binning them in favour of an integrated tail light and something else up the front, but that's more because too many people have asked if mine move, while grabbing them. Well, they fucking do now.

Anyway, some appear to be better than others, so I think it could be a case of try, and see. Or find someone with the same model as what you're interested in. Another idea I had, but haven't tried yet, is to lightly tint the lens, so that anything flashing inside, would be real obvious. I think that'd help a bit

Don't forget about the relay stuff, LEDs don't need hardly any power, so you might have to fiddle with the relay/electrics, in order for the lights not to flash fast as if a bulb has blown

From what I have seen, if the LEDs are sitting on a visible circuit board behind a clear lens they will be difficult to see in bright daylight.

The ones that are very clear during the day either have a coloured or very patterned lens, or each LED is centred within a silver reflector (see Ducati Hyper motard as a good example).

I had WFO arrow shape ones that were clear lens type but went bright orange when used - very bright even in daylight.
I would use that type again as I know some are shit.

I reckon, it's a bit of a hit and miss really.

They sure look cool in the evening but you're right about how they are hard to see in direct sunlight.

There are so many brands of LED indicators these days, you just gotta try em out. There's some on trade-me but, you'll get better ones off e-bay or ask around.

Can't suggest any as I've got a intergrated tail light (which I haven't put on yet) but I am thinking of of keeping the indicators on while at the time running the LED tail light.

Btw, there's a dude called imdying on kb who is like the led person to go to.
