Me & Lis are keen, possibly her parents as well on their old Triumph Bonneville. Be a good chance to test out my new Bike vid cams and get a great shot if I roll the bike over in another carpark:buggerd:

For starters i'm bigger than the bike is, because it's such a soft up for a guy my weight the bike weaves like crazy which make it a pain in the arse to place in corners properly, it's got no connection in the front end.
All these and a couple more issues and I find myself becoming aggravated when I ride it on the open road....
I know i'm sounding like a petulant spoiled brat and yeah....that sounds about right..:baby:
Edit: Just incase people think i'm sour about it, i'm not, the GSR 600 is a good bike im sure but not for me (i'm way too heavy for it and miss matched tyres would'nt be helping things either) and I really do appreciate Phil Turnbull Motorcycles making it available to me (they did'nt have to) coz you know I could have ended up with a Volty....

Wairarapa:
Wed 6 Mostly cloudy, but fine spells in the afternoon, especially inland. Southeast winds, tending light easterly in the evening.
Waipuk might have some drizzle in the early morning but I don't think it will be there by the time we're on the way.

Not for me, I'll get a puncture.
On the Capital 1000k ride I shredded the back tyre. On the Welly-Masterton-Napier-Taupo-Taumaranui-National Park-Waiouru-Welly Cheescutter ride, I got as far as Levin (762km) before I got a back tyre puncture. Haven't managed a 700k+ ride to completion yet.

Repeat several times while checking tyre. "I will not get a puncture", "I will not get a puncture"...
And I reckon it was only cause we were on SH1 that youre tyre got bored and decided to stab itself to death to relieve the boredom.....:)

You and me both. Riding home from work in Wanganui tonight through the Halcome Rd and the tires felt decidely second hand. I'm going to try to return the loaner bike to PT's today so I won't be on the ride unless there is a miracle and my bike is ready today.
If this miracle comes to pass i'll be waiting at the BP.

Twenty five bikes , several two up, are hard to keep invisible. Basically great ride, great people, no one fell off, no one had to pay extra tax so all good. I am sure the scribes and photgraphers will be on line very soon

Sorry to hear that MSTRS. We ( Wasp27 and I )found them at Patangata and rode the avo leg with them 320 km when I parked in the shed. Less than half what the Welly people will have done but a great day. I recon the Plod on Middle road must have been pissed. So many bikes and no one speeding.:clap: Thanks to the people that put this on. It was one hell of a day out and I am sorry I only got to do half of it. But a good half. Was rear for me to ride one up. Was nice to let the GSX-R run out a bit. What a day
Thanks Chanceyy  and all the other that put this on and let us come along. Nice to catch up with a few people as well.

And most importantly -I got home without crashing  yar!! but i did hear their was a green kawa that crashed somewhere on our way back to woodville (no-one that was riding with us i was told )
ps: did we see banditrider and meanie parked up at the all day breakfast place ? lol

Enjoyed the ride. Got a couple of pics but unfortunately left them in a drain somewhere I suspect. Sarahs bike wasn't giving good MPG so she parked it up. Alister had to really cane that R6 he was on to keep up with Yod.
Great to see a few Welly guys and Hawkes Bay crew. Long days ride for the Wellington folk.

N00b lost the pack... oops. I apologise for that... blame the strain of being a first timer and just plain weariness. Made it back ok and so did ... (my memory is like a sieve) we went down Middle Road and saw the ambulane and towtruck, then the green kwaka in the shoulder of the road... yes IN the shoulder. Was a mess. Photos later when I can see straight..
Great day, thanx.

:sunny: well with a new jacket that I arrived monday today would be the "test" ride minus sending it for a crash test well it was great to see about 25 others coming along for the ride too ..
great day, great roads .. lack of mr plod was even better ... did note the one this morning at ashhurst go past turn around & park up the road .. prob trying to catch us out as we left but :nono: & the one this aft  he must have been pissy that we were caught up behind the cars/cyclists & were behaving ..
a few mis-communications during the day meant the group got split a few times, sorry bout that ... but on the whole with such a large group & quite a few new faces it still was a great ride ..
and impressions of the jacket .. very comfy & roomy enough to fit a jumper or two in the colder weather :wari: am definately pleased with muh pressie for sure ..
will have to post pics later ..

its always a bit of a mission to keep things together with so many bikes but everyone got there and back in one piece, so all good
the blue CX (there were TWO today, would you believe) tried its hardest to stay in front with a Bones Bond smokescreen, still showed good pace for a 30 yr old!

Was a fantastic ride. Shame we had to go see Lis's family for the afternoon really... Enjoyed the twisties the most and finally got comfortable with this whole Road riding thing. Was missing the lack of jumps until I hit that pointy little rise/bridge and cleared it and the second rise behind it! Couldn't stop grinning and laughing after that!
86 flew by me on the R6 so I could admire my next bike from behind... thanks for that :niceone:
I want to volunteer for being corner marker/guide on the next ride. Was so much fun trying to catch back up to everyone. Except when I finally caught Lis and a CBR1000 (I think) and they both promptly blew me into the weeds while I was gloating passing them both as did Pauly and his loaner GSXR! Lessons learnt.
Was a bit unnerving sitting for 10mins after 10 bikes went through, waiting for the rest and nothing showed. Sat in the rain with the Hyosung rider discussing possible causes ranging from a lost group, a short cut, to a major accident. We were both pretty glad to find every one at Waipuk still on two wheels.
The Rangi fix of wrapping wire around the muffler to the rear footpeg on Lis's ZXR held fine all the way home thank god! Seriously expected the whole can to fly off when we reached Dannevirke the first time and the mounts sheared off as she pulled into the gas station!
The paint was mixed up tonight for the new Green TYGA Babyblade look (should appeal atleast alittle to Cowboyz... maybe), so I'll be stoneguarding EVERYTHING and riding like a nana for a while now. The Green shot bike as the kids call the ZXR is off to see the welders at Roadrunner for repairs and we are both adding some decent toolkits to our bikes so we don't have to bludge on the roadside again.
The video camera on the fairing works a treat and even caught the bridge jump.
Thanks Chanceyy for the ride. Great day off!
