We know it's not fucking OK.
A bunch of has beens and someone that looks like Phil Gifford plus 80kgs is not going to deter the weak dickheads that bash their wives and kids.
What we need is a proper ad campaign like this.

That's much better than our ones.
One problem, no-one is sent to jail in NZ for bashing their women. They get all tearful and apologise and that's the end of it.

As far as the kids are concerned at least?

Cos it usually doesn't end up with the guy being dead, or severely beaten.

They are send to jail for women bashing,
But the jails are so PC correct the fuckers are housed in their own wings away from the general population
So that these poor little woman bashers will not get their heads rightfully bashed by those like the person in the add.
If you want PC then look at the prison system
Pedofiles, child bashers, women bashers all get mamby pamby treatment so they dont get hurt!
Bring back the Stocks in the town square
Clamp the fuckers in them for 24hrs so that the public can throw rotton tomatoes etc at them
Do this as well for shop lifters in malls, burglers in the local park, Vandals, grafite artists etc......
You watch the crime rate drop within a month!
Ah but here in lies the problem!
""You cant do that," PC correctness, "the innocent might get wrongfully blamed"" will be the call from the goodie goodie seats. Amoung other statements.

I like that fat old bag, great role model that she is - "it's not alright to lash out, but it is ok to steal some poor guys chocolates and grape juice".
Cos it usually doesn't end up with the guy being dead, or severely beaten.
disagree, seen a couple of instances of women hitting guys that IF the other way around would have earnt the guy an assault charge at least.
the first one, the guy was too ashamed to do anything.
the second one got talked out of the charge (basically laughed at).

Rubbish. More men get severely beaten by women than we'll ever know because the bloke WILL get ridiculed if he complains.
Why is it funny for a woman to hit a guy with a frying pan or a rolling pin? In the movies it's funny (not). In real life an overhand swing with a dense weapon to the head will kill, permanently damage, or at least render someone unconscious.
Why is female to male violence socially acceptable and the male subject to ridicule if he complains? Why is it alright for mothers to break toys over a son's head, but if a bloke sees his daughter naked in the bath he's off to jail?
Ask yourself? Why target males only? Any form of hate or anger filled violence is unacceptable, surely?
Why is it alright for women to perpetrate violence against men and children?
Why would you make excuses for a woman injuring someone, but men get their lives ruined for alleged violent acts? Men don't have to do anything except raise their voices to get neighbours calling the cops. A woman can whale on a bloke with a spade while he lies on the ground and doesn't retaliate and the neighbours will probably laugh if they see it.

Ever read Out of the Mist and Steam: A Memoir by Alan Duff? In that book he tells you about how his mother was the violent one who bet up his father. Alan Duff grew up in Rotovegas and came to talk to my english class in High School one year. He described his child hood as hard, his mother was maori and his father european/palangi/pakeha.... He was very scared of his mother as were alot of people.
While men are more predominantly known to be violent, there are a shit load of woman who hit there men/partners. These woman are viscious and vindictave their men just sit there and take it cause they wont hit back. Family violence is disgusting and can be equally as bad for both sexes!!!

If you want vigilante justice, you have to accept the absence of Government and any form of civilisation. Punishment is meted out by the courts in the fashion that YOU asked for it to be.

So you're advocating violent retribution if a woman hits you?
Make up your mind. You can't make a joke of it. The ratio of violent acts between spouses is evenly divided between the genders.
It's got nothing to do with "tough" women.
Society accepts female to male violence but you guys want guys who are jailed for "wife beating" to have more (violent, physical) punishment dished out in jail.

You assume that I voted for the current government.
It does not mater what we as the people say to this govenment they have and will alway do what they want regaurdles of our input
We as a people, dont really have a true voice in the running of the goverment of this country
Elections?
What a farce, minority partys goin togeather to make a majority, yeah right. we voted them in......but they decided who "them" was.
anyways :jerry:
Violence is the most powerfull force we have control of, pity we abuse that control more than use it wisely.:girlfight:
Women? I agree can be more violent than men, but they are emotional beings, as us men are cold harted, calculating but slow to show our true feelings, we hate being seen as a coward or a weakling.
So we put on a mask and adapt to the needs of the day........her needs all too often:buggerd:

Just to clarify Jim....By tough I meant, mentaly hard, violent, physchotic etc.... Anyone who is violent, especially those who are guilty of domestic violence needs help. But these people, both men and woman are "tough" as in they are hardened by whatever circumstances for whatever reasons and accept there behaviour as normal when its not.
Women? I agree can be more violent than men, but they are emotional beings, as us men are cold harted, calculating but slow to show our true feelings, we hate being seen as a coward or a weakling.
See some woman can use both violence AND emotional abuse to wear there partner down. Some woman who do this kind of thing actually feel less emotion than you think and are blinded by violent rage. Some woman can be more violent than men, both physically and mentally.

My first wife was a violent drunk. If she didn't pass out after her third bottle of wine, she would get aggressive and violent.
She had twice my strength. Not physically, but mentally there were no limits or bounds to her aggression.
After two years of abuse and sometimes being awakenened by being beaten around the head in my sleep, I went to the Domestic Violence Unit of the local Police station. They were very keen to see me and happy to talk. I showed them around 1000 pages of diary notes. I explained that my therapy was to write down just the really bad incidents.
I then discover that my wife has been reporting me for domestic violence against her for the past 2 years. They said that they knew there was something wrong with her claims, but couldn't work out quite what it was. They said that they believe me and not her.
Anyway it all ended very badly and I am now in NZ without the three kids I brought up whilst their drunken mother did all she could to destroy anything good. For me to see my kids, they have to suffer unreasonable stress and anxiety, so it is best that I don't see them. I understand that they now hate me. I didn't give up easily, courts, solicitors, wasted holiday fares, 600k round trips without seeing them; there was very little else that I could do.
Sorry to say this about a woman however my ex-wife is a complete cunt, but in saying that is that worse than the supposed law makers. The UK police are prejudice, the UK courts are prejudice and in general, women in such industries are unable to act professionally and without prejudice. She was mixing with her own kind, especially the legal profession and to deceive such people has been very easy.
As a souvenir, I have a letter from a senior social worker stating that my ex-wife suffered domestic violence from me. Apparently my kids say they were told what to say and when to say it by their mother. Excellent. All that special training those morons get at everyone elses expense (to know when kids are being made to lie) is obviously well invested. Unfortunately in those days, only already screwed up people applied for such jobs. Hopefully that is no so much the case today.
No sympathy or 'what ifs' required thanks. Been there , done that. I am free from that woman. I have had to pay a very high price, but it has been worth it as I am still alive, which I would not be if I had stayed. Once I get my knee straight, I have a new motorbike on its way and I will be even happier thanks very much.
The point of my ramble is that the idealists on this thread seem to make presumptions based upon specific presentations. I don't know why anyone on here believes themselves qualified to judge a half arsed news story to a full conclusion.
Off soap box and out on my bike............................

The Japanese have one of the lowest crime rates in the world and their punishment and justice system is one of the harshest.
Reason why it's low is because of fear of punishment. Some of them who go to prison are monitored 23 hours strictly.

I think I understand exactly where you're coming from Jim and it's a catch 22 scenario.
Woman to man domestic violence is not seen as a problem in this country as there's obviously a huge shortfall in the number of reported incidents. Therefore the media and campaigners are going to promote solutions to what's seen as the more predominant social issue.
Perhaps what we need is someone to begin a campaign encouraging men to come forward and not be embarrased. But before that can happen, scociety needs to be made aware that it's not a sign of "weakness" when men are psycologically/physically abused by their partners.
Gonna be a real tough cookie to crack unfortunately.

My ex-wife once picked up a chair and came after me, WWF style. (I must've said the wrong thing. I can be less than tactful, sometimes.)
In front of the kids and all.
As I retreated down the hallway, I commented that if she didn't start acting sane, I'd consider calling the cops.
She dropped the chair, ran for the phone and called them first, claiming I'd hit her.
I must say, I was impressed; there was a police officer at the door within 60 seconds. Literally.
A bit embarrassing, though, on the whole.
I eventually got rid of her in exchange for six figures of debt and monthly child support payments, and the kids have been trained, it would seem, to tell people that they're poor because daddy left and took all the money with him.
As a wise man once said to me - burn all bitches.
