By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.

The owners of Kiwi Biker forums reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason.

General participation on KB:
A reminder that abuse, fighting and harassment on this forum will not be tolerated. This is a biker community and general banter is part of the general feel. However, any malicious/threatening/abusive comments, images or actions will be dealt with by the Moderators/Administrators. Please keep in mind that threats, abuse or harassment includes comments or images made in the forums, via the reputation system, via pm, any attachments or via the Thread Tag system.

Privacy
All members of this forum have a right to participate without having private or personal information released by others. Personal information (for example name, address, or occupation) must not be posted on this site without the subject's permission, or against their wishes. Any complaint received about this will result in the private details being removed, and the person posting it will be warned. Any subsequent attempts by that person (or others) to repost that information, will result in firm action to prevent the reposting.

Discussion of accidents

Accident resulting in death or serious injury

Please show respect and consideration for the bikers, friends and family involved
Names and details are not to be discussed for 24 hours after the accident unless they are already public (in the media) or are posted by family, close friends or Moderators. When News sites publish details it is guaranteed that family and loved ones have been informed. It is the job of the Police to inform them, not this web site.
Should an accident result in deaths a RIP/Biker Down thread will be started once the names and details are public knowledge (in the media)
Should an accident result in major injuries a Biker Down thread will be started once the names and details are public knowledge (in the media)
A RIP/Biker Down thread is for condolences only; speculation and general discussion about the circumstances should be in a seperate thread

The site Administrators and Moderators reserve the right to remove a thread or posts
Any accident that happens at a public gathering is fair comment, subject to the above stipulations
Discussion of any accident not involving death or serious injury should be kept to a single thread. Respect for those involved should be shown at all times.
Fictitious or malicious speculation will be removed without notification and the person who posted the comments will be strongly censured

Multiple personalities/logons
Only one account per person is allowed. Creation of aliases will result in the second account merged with the first. Also, there will be an automatic 2 week sin-binning unless a valid reason can be provided. Exceptions are:

having seperate accounts for work and home. You must identify which is which
business accounts. A personal account is highly recommended should you wish to participate in general discussions not related to your business

Business/Industry accounts
For people or businesses that wish to be recognized as being involved in the Motorcycle Industry or Related Areas it is possible to request that your account be changed to reflect your involvement. This will change the colour of your user name to green text. To request this change please pm a Senior Moderator (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showgroups.php). Any promotional or business related threads should be kept to the Online Trading (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=18) and Shops Sales, Info & Discounts (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=41) forums. We strongly suggest that a second account be registered that can be used to keep personal opinions and conversations separate from business.

Online Trading
The Online Trading (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=18) forum is not only set up for selling bikes. Selling of bike related gear can also be advertised in the Online Trading (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=18) forum, as can wanting to buy bikes/gear. However, it is not Trademe (http://www.trademe.co.nz/) and is not there to handle selling non-bike related items.

Shops Sales, Info & Discounts
The Shops Sales, Info & Discounts (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=41) forum is for Bike Shops and related industries to advertise and discussion of their products, services and events.

Private messages and Reputation comments
Private messages are just that, private. PMs and Rep comments must not be quoted in public without the sender's permission.

Deleting threads
The originator of a thread may request that a thread they started be deleted. They should contact a Senior Moderator (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showgroups.php) and provide a reason.

Goodbye KB threads
Anyone who starts a thread stating that they are leaving kiwibiker shall be assisted in the form of a 2 week ban.

Images and Sexual Content
While this is a biker related site, a lot of subjects are covered and images are posted.

Images must comply with the following requirements. Any images that do not comply will be removed and the person who posted them will receive an infraction:

no visible genitalia
no spread legs shots
no images showing death, violence, racism, obscenity, vulgarity or suffering
no images that violate New Zealand law

Thread topics, posts and attachments must not contain:

graphic descriptions of sexual acts, violence, injury, suffering, racism, death, or obscenities
soliciting for any activity of an illegal, sexual, violent or racist nature

Not Work Safe (NWS) material
Please see the first post in the LOA forum thread (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=65898).

Embedded Images Size
Many site members still use dialup connection and large images can take too long to load. It is strongly recommended that images be attachments rather than embedded. A URL can be used to attach an image to a post in the same way as attaching a file.

Maximum Picture Size: 640 pixels x 480 pixels
Maximum Picture File Size: 100kb

Embedded Media
All embedded media must have HIDDEN and AUTOSTART set to FALSE.
No hidden, embedded sound files permitted. Users must click the play button to begin download and play.

Quoting Embedded Images/Media
Quoting posts with embedded images/media is also a big no-no. When replying to posts containing embedded images/media remove the image/media from your quote.

Moderators

Moderators have been asked by SpankMe to help run the site, and work within the guidelines set by him.
Moderators are required to keep the site running smoothly, protect the reputation of the site and its owner, maintain order and ensure the site's standards of behaviour are adhered to. Members agreed to abide by the rules when they joined this site.
Abuse of Moderators will not be tolerated. Abuse of a Moderator results in the following punishments:

First offence - a site infraction (10 points / 4 months)
Second offence - a site infraction (as above) plus two weeks in the sin bin
Third offence - a site infraction (as above) plus four weeks in the sin bin
Fourth and final offence - a permanent site ban

If you are not happy with an action a Moderator has taken, you can appeal the decision by pm’ing a Senior Moderator (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showgroups.php) and letting them know why you are not happy. If your complaint is about a Senior Moderator (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showgroups.php), please pm a Site Administrator (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showgroups.php). An appeal must contain all the information required to make a decision. Senior Moderators (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showgroups.php) and Site Administrators (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showgroups.php) will only act on fact, not on emotion. Only genuine complaints will be dealt with.
Moderators are not above the site's rules - they are also site members with the same rights and privileges as all other members and will often post in a personal capacity. Moderators will generally make it clear when their posted comments are made in an official capacity and when they are not. If in doubt, people should assume that a Moderator has posted as a member, rather than as a Moderator. Personal posts made by Moderators are subject to the usual site rules and are moderated (as necessary) by a Senior Moderator (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showgroups.php).

Netiquette
We strongly recommend that Internet Forum Etiquette (Netiquette (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netiquette#Forum_etiquette)) be followed. Gross breaches of it will be acted on by the site moderators.

Image Defacement -
Taking people's images from their profiles/avatars, defacing them and then making them your own avatars etc is classed as a form of personal abuse and action will be taken if this happens.
