Hi everyone, a problem occured to my 250 hornet today (1996) :(
I was riding then all of a sudden my engine began to putt out much like i was running out of fuel and finally cut out completely. So i parked her on the road side and checked my fuel, still half a tank left! My question is does anyone know whats wrong with it? The fuel tap is on On, i tried changing it to Res but still no change. I gave the bike a shake then after about a minute of turning the starter motor she finally fired up again. No problem, so i get home and check the carbs, seems ok. I wonder if its a spark plug problem? I tried taking it out for another ride, it was going sweet then same thing :( this time my bloody battery died out from me turning the starter motor so much i had to jump start the bloody thing :(

Any help would be great thanks!

Does it sometimes happen wen going uphill or passing ?
Have had the exact same problems when i had my 250 hornet, ended up being a problem with the carbies being blocked and not giving enough fuel out ,taken it to the local bike shop yet ?

have you checked that both tubes leading to the fuel tank are connected? If the smaller one that provides vacuum is off, then it will to it cutting out ... and then if you wait a while, it magically starts again, rides for a while and cuts out again!

Have a check under the tank to see if both tubes are on properly! Hope that is the prob! :sweatdrop

Hi Gijoe, yeah both tubes are in, i actually blocked one of the tubes ages back with a small screw so i dont think thats the problem :P. Im guessing it is the carbies as hornet250boy said, im taking it into a mechanic on waitangi day. Its damn frustrating tho, cos its been working for ages and suddenly without me touching the bike it bums out :( aaahh well.
Thanks for the replies guys!
