   Shit this healing process takes forever :weep:

Well it's been almost 8 weeks since my bin and I still haven't thrown my leg over. Although I have managed to get back to work for the last 3 weeks, even though it's only for 4hrs a day and 4 days of the week. It sure as hell beats sitting at home all day.

I went for my first follow up x-rays today (post op) and all the plates and screws are where they're meant to be, so I guess I should'nt complain, and my doc has now left the decision to increase the hours of work entirely upto me, so long as I stick to light duties.I've also managed to get rid of the crutches. This has to carry on for another 6weeks and then have to go for more x-rays, bloody hell I don't recommend you go and burst your vertabrae. To top the whole thing off I have to continue wearing my brace "now that sucks piles"

On a better note insurance has finally paid up and now I'm stuck with the momentous task of trying to decide what to buy next ????????????????

I've seriously been considering a cruiser and then either looking at getting a "pocket rocket" something like a 250 2 stroker or a supermotard as a play bike, but that would take time to save the cash up, now will I be happy with a cruiser ??????? as per normal I will always find something to regret the decision I've made. :gob:

How about a CB1300, better suspension than your old CB900, and a bit more balls, as well as being comfortable :niceone:

Glad your coming along well :niceone: cant wait too see you back out on the road.... maybe you should pop down to Quasi's BBQ on the 11th of December at Coromandal....

I was told after having my op (March 2004) - carpal tunnel syndrome - that I wasnt allowed to ride for 6 weeks.... but I finally got the ok after 5 weeks.... and that was a VERY long 5 weeks..... it was hard to go out to the garage and turn her on to keep the battery in working order...... and when I was allowed to ride it was only short trips.... like 10 to 20 km..... and then work up the kms each time I went out........ now I ride everywhere... :2thumbsup

Yep my op was different from yours, but you will be back riding again real soon... :2thumbsup :wavey:

Vagabond: How did you find the CB900? Nice bike?
Have just been looking over them and they look like such a bargain.
Love the matt blue paint.

i'm with ya buddy! although i didn't incapacitate myself when I crashed at labout w/e, i'm still without my bike (awaiting bits... at least two weeks probably still) and it really sucks!i used to use it everyday to go everywhere and now I'm reduced to sponging rides, catching buses.. or just not going! :(

My condolences on your biking desert.

Howdy Devil,
She's not a bad bike for the price, although it could have done with adjustable front forks, as I found it to shake it's head, not a full on tank slap just a wake up call every now and again and I put on after market foot pegs as the standards were constantly on the ground.
A major plus is she's easy to pick up into a wheelie, if you're so inclined.
:Police: shouldnt see you though.

There are better out there but you pay for what you get.

P.S. I binned mine through my own fault

Good luck mate.

Getting a new bike depends on what you feel like now. Just try not to bin it a second time. Ride safe.

I'd think carefully about not getting a cruiser - not the best for your recuperating spine, Dude. Another UJM would be a better choice.

yeah but WIDTH counts for a lot :devil2:

I'm gonna go for a test ride on a VS1400, hopefully next week.
I gotta be mobile before the end of Feb as a couple of us are planning to tour the top half of the S.Island.

S'far as I'm concerned if it's got two wheels it's a heap of fun :spudbooge

Don't worry, I've been in the same boat. No bike for like 10 weeks, but today I did my last exam so I should be able to fix it, touch wood.

Hey Death,
I'd love to buy the toy first but can't do the S.Island on that.
