Well what a fortnight of firsts it has been KB.

In the short time I have had the pleasure of bring a rider on Auckland streets I have experienced the following great firsts.

1 - Had someone pull out from a parallel park, without looking, or blinking.
2 - Had someone cut across me out of a carpark.
3 - Had to use "real time" emergency braking, (the practise pays off people!!) resulting in the back wheel locking up a "little"
4 - Nearly put the bike over wheeling backward into its night time resting place.

Those are just the bad ones, the good. . .

1 - First time open road riding, wind in the hair, if I had much :pinch:
2 - First time night riding, not as scary as some will have you believe, but then again only need a 1 or 2 from above to change my mind on that.
3 - First time riding in the rain, feels great, but . . . . . . does anyone remember the "slip-and-slide" in the back yard?? Very similar.
4 - Doing well in excess of 1500kms, not a commuter bike. . Ahhhhhh :Punk:

Oh yeah, that was the second time going from a learners bike (250) to a bigger bike. Good times.

The reason you have never run into a cage-caused emergency is because your bike never runs.

First wheel stand - VERY HARSHLY dumped clutch on an RG150 - ha haaaa what an effing laugh that was and SOOO unexpected at the time!
First time I rode the TL1000S which was also the first time (and last) I ever did 200kms.

I remember the first time I rode down Kent and Cambridge in Wellington. Some cager decided to move into my lane without looking to see if I was there, thankfully I was though and broke so the idiot didn’t maul me.

Just remember everyone else on the road is an idiot. If you remember that and ride to it, it will save your life.

I had a first yesterday :) First time on the road!! Yay, took Rob's CBR out and it was so much fun... Haha, I'm a bit of a slow learner, so went on a road with absolutely no traffic and only went up to 60km in 4th gear but still:sunny: So frustrating not having my own bike!:soon:

Went for my first proper spin that wasnt on my way to work today. Drove down to the City centre and then out along the coast road past Mission bay and St helliers, It was great and got a smile from a sexy girl biker on queen st  hehe

Im riding just a week now and feel much better riding already, getting good at the operation of the bike and that leaves me much more time to look out for crazy cage drivers, generally feeling more relaxed. :)

The embarressing cut outs on hill starts are nearly all gone too and the wind doesn't bother me anymore... feelin good!!

Would be up for a ride around Auckland anytime too!

First time - today , had the pleasure of a beautiful french girl walking up to me just when I was getting ready to put my helmet on and we started talking bikes. Sadly all she knows about bikes is from her partner. Hopefully the next one that walks up to me will actually be into biking and single lol.

Anyway.

The first 3 meters I nearly dropped the bike
the first day I almost got slammed by a car coz I had stalled in the oposite lane behind a hill :oi-grr:
The First Near miss was in the first week , when an asian girl decided she doesnt like to stay behind a bike with a big L on it.
First Slide happened about a 2 months into riding - slid the bike about 10m on a left hand corner. Bike is fine.

Had many firsts but thats from the top of my head lol

Love biking dow , done 11K so far since 17 DEC 2007 so amm yea , that me.
