I see Nicky's off home! Says he's done all he can, it's now up to Honda to give him some power. I suspect he's a worried man.
The problem with being the armchair enthusiast is that all we get given is pap and shite from the 'official' press releases. There's no way we, the great unwashed, can ever know much about what's really going on. I think it's a great pity that blokes like Mat Oxley and Michael Scott don't have online columns telling it like it really is as it happens.
I hate that if they did, they'd be shown the door and their credentials burned by Dorna, with full approval from the suits and the marketing types that seem to have the power to hide whatever shows the manufacturers in what they perceive to be a bad light.
OK, sorry, rant over......
Cheers

Do you remember 2005? It was a simpler time. HD TV was just a pipe-dream with 1080p only meaning a tenner; chip and pin was a laughable idea – who could remember all of those numbers? And Rossi, yes, the Italian moaner was king. So, plug in that Play Station 2 and look at set MotoGP 2 to Testing at Sepang where Rossi, like Cher (who he secretly adores) turned back time.
Yes, that’s right. The former curley-wurley wobbler, now with his very own tyres, whacked in a two minute flat lap to rub basil-soaked ravioli in his gold-helmeted team mate Jorge ‘Jorendous’ Lorenzo, who only managed a fourth fastest time, nearly two seconds behind his flux-capacitor using team mate. However, Lorenzo cut short Rossi’s joy by showing him that Colin Edwards was fastest at the same place a few weeks back. That sent the lengthy loser straight into the arms of his accountants and solicitors.
Second fastest, and running the most laps of the day, again, was Haystacks. The uncle-lover, who now likes to fly to Spain, dress up as a doctor and torture dwarf’s hands in the vain hope he’d hit the right one was predictably fair to meddling. Second was good, you might say. But he only just beat Nakano. Sort of like winning a little race you invented with your own trolley in the supermarket – it just doesn’t count.
Fifth fastest was DeAlsoRan, who was just beaten by a small mongoose who had wandered on the circuit in a sleepy daze. However, DeAlsoRan and the mongoose managed to get ahead of the smelly French Old Frog and the Yamaha Robots.
Blimey, it’s starting to get a bit much, isn’t it? We were all bored at the beginning of the year, praying for the testing to start – now we’re all fed up with it! I blame Colin Edwards. If he managed to follow through on testing and be quick in a race, we’d all think it was worth something. However, testing these days is about as reliable as the cut and paste.com’s website.

Cheers Bill, very funny and akin to my own sense of humour !
I made my annual pilgrimage to the WMCC yesterday (I wanted a gasket for the Bandit). There at the parts counter I was accosted by "Crasherfromwayback'. I was caught by surprise for a change and without a smart retort. He has assured me Rossi's reign is over and that we are entering a Stoner era ! (could well be right?) Should my wish succeed and Rossi bounce back , I shall be back to WMCC in a flash to join Pete for a coffee and a piece of pie ! ? Gaz.
