...Have stuck my hand up for the the Westpac charity ride on 24 Feb. Any other yellow-platers out there, (or symapthetic old hands) who want a riding buddy for the day?? Happy to tackle it on my own :sweatdrop, but a friendly helmet would be good, to introduce me to others and make sure sure I don't bring down the motorcade.:nono:

I'm gonna be there too. I haven't been on any KB outings before so this will be my first!
Gonna try and rustle up a few of the boys as well.

Last years ride was my first ever 'large' pack ride.
Scared the shit out of me!
But still, I learned a lot as well, just had to get used to doing 140 on the motorway, and having a bike cop keep coming up beside me, telling me to hurry up and go faster!
Piece of the proverbial, you'll be fine.

fuck you must have been the last bike too leave,:gob: cause we not got over 80km and we were in the middle half, na you'llbe right just don't be up front, and wait toward's the back of the ride, plenty of helper's, and it's for a cause not for a race ,

For sure I was middle pack and average speed was 80 to 100k just so many bikes to go any faster, pretty normal for Auk motorways actually. But easy as to ride in and a great buzz to be surrounded by so many bikes. And a great cause so... just do it:)

Yeah, I tried to keep to the rear so as not to get too tangled up, being the wide-eyed newbie that I was... won't be doing that again this year!
Ride your own speed, keep a straight line, and be more mindful and aware of bikes that may be passing you, and all will be sweet.
