Hi guys and girls, I have a 94' RF900 with the standard Suzuki exhaust can. I want to get something a bit more sexy sounding, but am hampered as most people would appreciate by a lack of funds.
So the question is, what can be done to a standard can to make it a bit better sounding, some mate have said get a big f**kin drill and make a hole straight through the baffles! Will this do the trick, has anyone got a race can going cheap??
Please help, all my past bikes have had great sounding cans (the last being a Yoshimura) and I miss the noise .
Cheers

If it uses suzuki's 4 bolt flange, then this (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Parts-accessories/Exhaust/auction-139199728.htm) should fit

What to do with a standard can?
Nothing! Keep it for when it has to go for a warrant. Buy an after-market one to make noise and attract cops :)

It's one of the three stub jobbies, so something that just bolts on would be nice. Have asked all the wreckers in Auckland if they have any, even if they are a bit dented or scratched. Apparently rocking horse sh*t is easier to come by.

I know, but that leaves you one to gut and one to leave standard should that be necessary for a wof...
Mine runs a Yoshi, but with all the talk of noise and emissions laws being tightened lately I bought a used standard can off TM (for $27) to put away just in case.

My standard cans have been modded for a better tone, but still pass warrant.
Ther's full details on www.xjroc.com , but basically, you drill round the small pipe, pull it out from the baffles, and fit and end plate.
This negates the internal baffles, gives a deeper tone, but without boy racer bean can volume.
I'll get you more details if you PM me.

Gidday Gaagaa,
Give Warren a call at Virgin Mufflers on 021 035-2218
You can re-core the standard can for around $250.00 ~ 300.00 - the noise level is up to you, discuss it with Warren at the time of enquiry...
The bike will remain legal for all but the most pedantic of W.O.F inspectors... :oi-grr:
Cheers

I have a standard RF muffler that for a small fee could be yours to experiement on i.e. drill open and debaffel.
