MP Huw Irranca-Davies has called for more legal sites to be built for off-road bikers in Wales.

"My preferred option would be to provide opportunities for people to pursue off-road biking and then come down hard on people who abuse that right," said Davies "Instead of confiscating and crushing bikes I believe we should re-use them as part of a scheme to train young people in riding skills or mechanics."

Wales offers great opportunities for off-roading, with it’s wealth of open spaces. But the green/rambler lobby has jumped upon complaints of noise by some residents as an opportunity to get off-road biking banned. With proposals for future legislation on the subject due soon, the current freedom enjoyed is certain to be cut back, so Mr Davies suggestion is most timely.
