how much gas would a 250cc use going to auckland and back again.
think its got a 18ltr tank

Depends on your bike, how you ride.

It's your bike, you should know. Mine gets about 350Km per tank, so gets from Wellington to Auckland in 2 and a bit tanks.

My 2007 gpx gets average about 300km out of 15L tank, so another 60km until its dry and you have used all 18L. Is about 20km/L at 110-120 km/hr open road and some town riding.

Will do 23+ km/L on an open road only trip at that speed, and I always have a rack and bag on the back (and its not the miss-us :lol:).

Pretty much all you need to know is how far you can commute currently wiyh a full tank before it's empty, grab that number and add maybe.. 30k's? for when touring because there's less stopping and starting and then you have how many kilometres per tank you use.

Then it's a simple task of getting a map and measuring how many k's it is from start to stop, I think wise's maps work it out for you if you ask it for a route.

All bikes and riding styles are different so you nobody will be able to tell you unless you work out the ks per tank.
