Well as is customary, my fantastic team owners hired Pukekohe for the day on Waitangi day and a few of us went for a play.

Now it has to be said, that this is the second year running that Riff raff has not been able to partake in the sillyness. Last year she had her wrist in a cast, this year she's got a belly full of arms and legs. Maybe next Febrary babe.

Having not been able to ride since Boxing day (what the hell is it with public holidays and bikes?) I was really looking forward to geting out on the WBP Racing GSXR and try some new stuff. Arriving at the track we found the bikestore (www.bikestore.co.nz) crew already set up and some furious tyre changing going on. Why the hell people don't do this the night before is beyond me. Anyway we unpacked the bikes and stood around waiting for the rest to arrive.

My good mate Vaughan was with us in his V8 Commodore and a couple of pretty flash Audis turned up, that was pretty much all the cars that attended with the exception of Steve from Easystart Rental Managements new VE HSV GTS. Martin and a couple of others soon turned up and it was time to take to the track.

Did a session or two on the GSXR, playing silly buggers as ya do, enjoying slowing down to let Eddy catch up and then blasting off again. Then it was time to wheel out the secret weapon. Having only finished building a hybrid fork for the thing at 1am that morning, no one was really keen to test ride the thing except me and Patch. I thought as I'd bolted it together it was my problem so out I headed.

What. A. Fucken. Laugh!

Martin was out on my GSXR, his first ride since we'd turned it to a track tool. The RGV hadn't run in months and as a result had wet sumped and the pipes were full of oil. Can you say "Smoke screen"?

Got some great shots but I tell ya, tapped out at 180 on an unfaired 250, and a fricken blond poofter comes past at almost 100 kays quicker on a dayglo GSXR is a bit of humour. Eddy was laughing as he reckons it's the first time he's ever gone past me. It'll be the fucken last too punk!

I love the image of Dodgy Matt blinded by the smoke I left at the hairpin :D

Great day guys, thanks to all for your company.

Edit: Just gotta resize the images. Whoops

Here's a nice one of a blond poofter who has yet to be told that hair dressers can't ride bikes quickly. Nice style mate.

Frenchy came past and showed us what's what. Put on a real nice helicopter too but no one got a photo! Thanks for the show bro, everyone loved it. Especially Martins wife Liz. She was yelling and yahooing like a real westie at a burnout comp :D

Here's a nice wee shot of Mr Death givin the old SRAD some outta the hairpin. Still a bloody quick punter despite the lack of horsepower and the old age.

Martin had to take a couple of wee looks to see where the anorexic fucker on the RGV was.

Hunting you down boss, hunting you down!

That's what it was mate. Steve managed to chase both that and the RS4 down in the HSV though. Something to do with testicular fortitude into turn one I believe.

Hey Sully! Remeber those days bro?!

Fucken eh!

I remember all my gear smelling like two-stroke smoke fumes!
RGV's were the shit back then, I remember one guy was using a wet race tyre on the road:msn-wink:

Cool pics man, looks like it was a good way to spend a holiday!:niceone:

It was good to see my RGV (which I bought to use as a trackbike a week before finding out I was pregnant) finally being used for its intended purpose. In typical WT fashion, the work to make it rideable was all done the night before. Now its time to make it pretty again.

Yeah it's a bit cosmetically challenged, but I'm sure Eddie Spaghetti can lend me some of his facial products to remove the evidence of a hard life.:girlfight:

I'm thinking that since it's pretty obvious that WT got me to buy the RGV because he wanted it, that I should choose a really girly colour scheme.

Nah, we use the Aston DB9 for that sort of carry on. Nowhere to mount a towbar on a mid engined cage :D

Yep. Was a great day indeed. Well, it was until my Blade took an unplanned off-road excursion at Jennian.

Thanks to Martin, Steve and the WBP Racing crew for letting me, my sister and my dad tag along. And to Sue and Glenn for the truly excellent attention given to my father following his dirt-tracking practice. Other than some bruising and a stable pelvis fracture, he's relatively OK, but he has me and my sister to wind him up about it on a regular basis...
