You don't say just where in Dunedin, but a good one within the city is the green belt from Morninton to Leith Valley.

Then as you get a bit more experience try the Peninsular Road. Make it a loop by coming back on the top road.

Take the coast road through Brighton to Taieri Mouth over to Waihola and back via Berwick, Outram and three mile hill.

Take the Mt Cargill Road to Blueskin Bay and back over the motorway.

So many choices in Dunedin.

Welcome to the bike world. Take your time and learn at your pace. Enjoy it and feel free to talk about it here and ask questions. Plenty of helpful riders in here. And like someone said earlier - ride like no-one can see you ie do not assume other motorists have seen you. Ride defensively to survive and you will have many years of great riding ahead of you. Get out with some riding friends or find a mentor to offer advice and guidance. A good mentor is someone who is thinking about you and remembers what its like to be new. Offers helpful advice to help you improve your skills. And have fun!
