Greetings All,
I have been reading this forum for a while, before putting finger to keyboard and joining.

I started riding small time in the early 70's, then had a break of 22 years, whilst I pursued military ambitions.

Brought a moped to start commuting to work and then got transferred to the CBD, so had to go up a notch, bikewise, only a 150ccs.

The advice and knowledge displayed in this forum is awesome and took away a lot of fears I had about city riding and general motorcycle handling.

Everyday is a learning experience on my bike, city riding is like being on patrol, you're not safe until you get in the driveway, put the kickstand down and hop off the bike.

I don't know if I'm being paranoid, but I watch every cager as a potential hazard :shifty:

Well done and welcome to the wonderful world of KB.....

Yup - ride like you are invisible to everything not just cages. Pedestrians, pushbikes, scooters, etc....:)

You think you're paranoid.I treat every other road user as if their personal vendetta is to kill me.It seems to have worked so far......

Welcome to kb. Your thoughts on staying alive is absolutely correct. Everyone who has added to this thread is similar in their words.

I say - ride like nobody can see you and don't make any assumptions about other people on the road or on the side of the road. Ride defensively like the defensive driving courses.

Enjoy your new pastime. Ride safe.
