No doubt they are good riders but this kinda shit on the roads they must be nuts!! The gixxer guy is a bit rough in some corners but watch carefully towards the end, the near miss with the truck!

I hope none of you are doing this on the roads in NZ! Take it to the track guys. All the balls of steel and aggression belong there nowhere else.

And sometimes their head and body was over the center line.
In fact it was often difficult to tell which side of the road they were meant to be riding on.

Spot on, I think he locked his back a few times and misses gears too. He went off road as well, trying to keep up!

Outcome 1: "I made this totally radical film on me and zed ripping up the roads on our bikes! Man we are so fast! Zed thinks I am so cool he would marry me if he could!"

Outcome 2: "Me and zed made a snuff movie! Zed's dead baby, Zed's dead"

Funny thing, not their decision which of these outcomes they ended up with ...

well it didnt impress me - and I impress easily. Apart from waiting for the bin, which very surprisingly didnt come, the riding wasnt that fast or smooth. They were trying to be fast which just looks dumb. Instead of the sound of the bikes they could have put the spider-pig soundtrack to it.
Bet that if they made it to a track they would realise how slow they are.

13th February 2008, 16:22
That Gixxer was on the ragged edge once or twice - 'specially when trying to slow for some of the corners...

The thought I had was "Good thing those bikes heading the other way hadn't been held up by the cages - if they'd arrived much earlier, they'd have had fun trying to dodge the two prats being filmed, particularly around those blind LH's they were cutting".

On the other hand, it look like a fun road for a good blast - just with less traffic on it.

methinks he was doing it on purpose... they certainly aren't short on skill, as for judgement

I posted a video ages ago of guys on similar bikes on what seemed to be similar roads, doing the whole 'backing it in' thing on the open road. May be the same guys. Think they were Greek.

Ummm, I would of thought if they were so skilled at to be able to "back it in" they would leave it for the track?
Must be short of track days in Greese?

IMHO, they were self taught nut cases. Not very smart...

Well, it loked fast, but that's about it. Did no-one else notice that the Suzuki speedo was in kph, and only once did it reach just over 160. Don't know if it's possible to doctor those videos but it sure looked like they did. Apart from that their riding was crap, relying mostly on good luck rather than skill. I've seen better on SH16.

Thats not backing it in, thats just not knowing how to change down gears properly.

I doubt they will live to film many more vids, glad they aren't in NZ. Thats some seriously dodgy riding. All balls and 0 skill.

right at the beginning you see 205 on the clock, but agree the speed and skill levels were sad, Ive seen better riding and higher corniering speeds from some of our learners, let alone our more skilled riders, on the road to any NZ Ralley!
A poor showing in my opinion, just a pair of big egos, looking like fools

That was 5 minutes of "Highside at any second" material. The potential to kill other motorcyclists/drivers is so great that I don't see how any sane motorcyclist could actually enjoy this?

My exact message, I too cannot understand what was in their minds to do something like this. Not rational, logical, sensible or thoughtful at all.

Must be some chemical that gets released to the brain which makes us all do stupid things, not this drastic though. Theirs must be in abundance.

13th February 2008, 18:53
Not that impressive....not fast, no decent wheelies....nothing.
I'd say that they could see around the corners they were cutting, the tankcam is a fair bit lower than ya head.
As for nearly hitting the truck, c'mon, the bike was on his own side of the road even.....not even close.

Should be made into a "WHAT NOT TO DO" video, pity it didn't end in blood or carnage, then it would really serve a purpose....

Still...Makes me glad I'm not aspiring to ride like that.

I second the not impressive vote - the oncoming car at the end looked a whole lot closer than what the truck was.

the big handful of brake was amusing, you even heard the rear wheel hitting the deck.

kinda reminds me of the odd KB ride (I've seen) actually.

Amen, that guy with the camera seriously needs some time on a smaller 2-stroke to learn to shift, overreving underevving jeez. clearly just relying on the power and being a lazy and somewhat dodgy prat, nearly lost the front at least once in that.

The truck moment, while iffy - wasn't as bad as some of those blind corners they were playing roulette on :bash: I've been a fair whack closer to the side of a truck oncoming, though not by choice :sweatdrop

The fellow up front seemed to have a much smoother riding style IMO. Still complete muppets, I hope they only take themselves out when the time comes. Or better yet take it to a racetrack.

That vid link is good, although some what dramatic at the start it seems to have some good info.
