I've just bought an old trials bike, Honda TLMR. The guy selling it says its quite rare(?) It has "honda racing" on an engine case, see photos.
Is it a ex factory bike perhaps?
Couldn't find much about it googling around, anyone know the story with them?

Apparently these (http://www.lewisportusa.com/) guys are the guys to ask about them. Looked a bit on the net, seem to be pretty rare, didn't find any 230cc versions listed, mostly 200's, 220's and 250's. Weren't imported into America, Canada and Europe got some. Was the 2st bike Honda used until they were involved with Montesa

Here's (http://highonthai.com/media/CNN%20interview.wmv) a video of one in use in a stunt show.

Another Link (http://metalmarkers.tripod.com/hondatrials/tlm.html) (1991 260 model)

(Whoops, Fryin Finn's is a TLR, the 4 stroke model)

And it appears (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/archive/index.php/t-24096.html) a KiwiBiker had a 200 stolen back in 2006.

Man now it's getting confusing, some sources claim they were Japanese domestic market only. Who knows, maybe Motu. And yes I'm doing this to kill some time before I go out.

The TLM was the Montesa with the Honda badge.....or a new Montesa with Honda's bankroll.Same as the new Montesa/Honda 4 stroke. They were pretty good in their day and were ridden at Expert level, but that one has drum brakes....you'll be pulling down the brakes after every ride.Use off road boots,or better real trials boots and you won't need shin guards.Trials riders don't wear armour.

Cause we're tough!

Not that I can call myself a proper trials rider yet, I just piss around whenever I get a chance and attempt to ride over anything I can.

I wear my old road bike boots. Plain leather, no armour and well used so the leather is nice and soft.

Thanks for the info.
I might try and get a disk set up on the front if its not to involved.... have you any experience with such fathoms?
