I am alive! Thank goodness I'm ok!

Where do I start?

Day 1
I woke up at 5am and left my house (leaving a little message for my parents).

The weather was bad, very bad. It started to pour as I went on the Harbour bridge..... and the rain did not stop till I went to Orewa.

My first stop was Wellsford. Had my breakfast at McDonald's and started txting my friends about my update.

Long story short: It was a hell time from Wellsford to whangarei. But the hell was to come!

My 2nd bin
Ok, after another short break at BP Whangarei, I went to my next stop at Kawakawa. But soon as I enter the town, FUCK there was this almost-parallel-to-the-road train rail! I thought I could zoom through it but the bike couldn't

It was a small bin. I got up and suddenly people around me came over and helped me getting the bike up.

First things first, I checked everything was right... but no, it was not alright.

A bit of depression

Long story short: Local mechanics fixed it for me. I bought them a slab of Tui (24 cans of 440ml Tui). I sent some txts, recieved txts and replied to the txts.

OK, from here what do I do now? I couldn't give up! Fuck I'm gonna win this race! (and come back, rub my s*** in your face - Eminem)

The bike: Leaking tank, but its all good now. Also I got a cruise control! (thx to sticky throttle).

I kept on going (and still raining). I probably had the worst day to tour.... Well anyway, while I was riding, some txt messages were echoing in my head. Some messages saying "I miss you", "I love you, come back safe", "You ok?" etc etc

I didn't know those people would care about me, but now they are all worried about me! soon later it emotionally hit me. I had to pull over to break down.

Then I thought, "Gah! This tour is upon everything! My life, my family, my friends, everthing!". Yes, it was a tour of my life.

blah blah blah

The famous Mangamuka Gorge
Now, I was riding through the Mangamukawtfomg gorge! and YES! It WAS RAINING! :eek5:
I ZOOMED throught that OMGWTFROFLMAOLOL gorge at 30-40kph! and MAN! it was dangrous! :gob: Especially on down hill, If my rear brake had locked, I would've slid all the way down (but it did not happen)

Kaitaia
Shortly after I was in Kaitaia. My original plan was to go up to Cape Reinga and come down SH10 to Kerikeri for a night sleep but the time was around 2-3pm and thought I could not make that far tonight. So I got a room in a backpackers blah blah blah

The famous Cape Reinga

Right! off I went from Kaitaia to Cape Reinga. To be honest, I didn't know it would be faaaarr from Kaitaia to Cape Reinga! about 90km ride then rest gravel.

NOW! WHO THE FUCK SAID THERE WERE GRAVELS?!?! There were no gravels! :angry2:

...but there was MUD!!! :gob:

Mud ALL the way!!!

Oh, and because I was on a FXR, I succeeded going to Cape Reinga. If I was on a heavier bike (even a Hyosung GT250R), I would've sunk.

The Mud
some mud were 5-7cm deep. FXR tyre absolutely sunk at some places :eek5:
And also, when the mud filled the tyre threads, I had absolute no traction :eek5: However I continued my journey. I was 18kms away and how could I give up?? I could'nt give up!

Cape Reinga
Aaah, When I arrived at the car park, some tourists behind me (in cars) congratulated me going through the mud successfully. But I would really like to congratulate them making all the way here in cars!

Long story short: FREEDOM!!! Fresh air! Ahhhhh!!!

It was lovely, but I had to go back through the mud again! :angry2:
...so I did! (I did not drop the bike! hehehe)

But I felt proud of the mud on my pants and on the bike when a local dude asked me where I've been on that small bike with a big smile :D
I replied "All the way to Cape Reinga!" with a bigger smile lol

blah blah blah

I went to sleep.

Day 2

The weather was way better and it was time to go home :)
After my breakfast, I went south via SH10.

Long story short: I loved that road. Oh, I saw some police officers with their sneeky camera. So did I slow down? NO! why? Cause I was on a FXR! lol

lovely weather and lovely road all the way down to Kawakawa (I did not bin this time! Eat that rail way!) Whangarei, Wellsford, Walkworth, Orewa, and Home.

By the time I was in Whangare, I didn't wanted to go back home (back to school, to work, to stress etc). Well eventually I had to (anyways).

Thanks to:
Breakaway and Babyblade250rr for keeping in contact on the phone. Please share your blings to them saying "Good job on supporting EJ"

Well thats about it lol

Go the FXR (and EJ of course).

They're an amazing bike and that's a gutsy trip. People seem to think that a 150 can't do that stuff. Hell, people ask on here if they should go 100km on a 250. The answer is of course they can - and should!

Great example to all newbies EJ, a road trip is the No1 thing to do for building skills and confidence :)

I must do me one of those soon.

I have the perfect one Number One ... go with Nasty and the others on the Herceptin ride starting on the 6th March. It's a 7 day ride Welly, NP, Auckland, Tauranga, Opotiki, Gisborne, Masterton, Welly with no more than 370kms per day. It sounds like a hoot. Am not sure of the make up of the riders yet, but it sounds like a chicks ride

Hey! When I mentioned doing it to you (after you pulled me over in your plain-clothes car), you said `don't be silly, it's a 250 with drop-bars'.

He's on a frigging FXR and he gets an invitation? Where's the justice?!

Your not the first to be bitten by those tracks in Kawakawa, I used to live there and it happens heaps, seemed to happen more in the old days than now.

I try to cross them as close to a right angle as i can, its a lot harder on the north end of the town. Watch out for the wheel eating holes on the south end when it rains to. They still scare me now, once my cage got caught on them.

I feel inspired. Sadly I feel inspired to have a go on the scooter or other underpowered 200 cc or smaller.

Anyone feel like sponsoring such a trip for all the mentalists keen to give the challenge a go? Entry condiditon you have an unsuited bike, have less than 200cc and bike must not be younger than 2.

while i've got an fxr about, there's also my 42cc (meant to be 50 but it isnt), aircooled, chinese, 2 smoke, chainsaw-with-wheels i call a pocket rocket

though i suppose i'd need to carry alot of premixed gas and get the thing road legal

so stick with the fxr i think:baby:

I thought you sold the FXR on retard me?

i sold my old written off one

bought another for my little brother to learn on when he turns 15 in july

an smc member was going to trade her in for 2 grand, so i got in there before the shop tried to onsell it for 3:first:

bonus is that it's made a pretty good spare bike for my family while out bikes are being serviced repaired
