I believe skydiving is statistically safer than motorcycle riding. I have a skydiving instructor in my (army) section. He's performed literally thousands of jumps without incident. However, he has lost more than a couple of mates to base jumping.

Well, base jumping...that's well stoopid, but what a rush!!! Surpassed only for suicidal inclinations by those who take up cave diving :wacko:
