Took the wheel bearings out of my bike today. Found two had 'Japan' and ' NSK' printed on them. Are these real NSK bearings or a rip version?

Thanks,

Aero

Where else would you have expected them to be made?

Maybe you're confiusing them with SKF - he Swedish ones

I think he's saying, `how come they used proper Japanese bearings in an otherwise neglectfully poor piece of shit?'

I was chatting to Greg from xtreme. He reckons they're duds. :argh: Looks like more money is going to be spent on the wee little bike. lol

Nah they are 3 times the price of NSK bearings lol $7 for good NSK bearings last time I got some..

Aero I agree with Greg to they will be branded NSK but if you buy the bike new and it had them in it they will be just chineese ones. Best to just change them... last year we had a chinesse bearing lock up and sheer the front axle off and causing the rider to flip over the front smashing her jaw and knocking her out... just not worth it when you are doing 70 odd kms.

I worked in the Bearing industry for 5 years.

NSK bearings are high quality, and well known. Even SKF gets some stuff made in china. I know, as I used to work there.

Only 20% of bearings actualy get to do there design life; because of incorrect fitting, lubrication contamination, rough housing etc etc. The list goes on.

So, brand doesnt realy matter between NTN, NSK, FAG, SKF, NACHI, TORRINGTON or TIMKEN, unless its on industrial equipent being run 24/7 in mega $$ machines.

Give me a ring, with the inside and outside dimensions and I'l get some decent cheap ones for ya.

If my Bike survives saturday, and I'm not too pissed off at it, I'l make an effort to come down to Taumaranui on sunday as well.

If anyone is keen to do this, a free ride is available on sunday morning.

Gotta make the most of these things!
