Ahhh, I was waiting at the Mr Whippy truck when that 'tard binned. Didn't see the spillage. That explains the guy on the RSVR highsiding there in the last BEARS race after he'd been stomping around the track so decisively all day.

I did love the way he subsequently jumped up on the haybales and took a bow for the crowd.

The riders do it to themselves, they do, they do.

Nah that was from the Harley with the ape hangers who blew something and dropped oil in the BEARS race, the RSVR was the first bike to come across it in the hairpin.... crash.

That Harley was running like a bag of shit every time I heard it yesterday. IT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ALLOWED ON THE TRACK THE WAY IT WAS RUNNING< it had serious problems, as was proved at others exspense

I respect anyone who gets out there and gives it a go but we did have a look at the Harley 'race bike' in the pits and surely a line has to be drawn somewhere as to what's allowed out there.

I'm surprised it passed scrutineering and even more surprised his leathers did.... they looked like the cobwebs they must have been hanging in prior to the meeting were all that held them together.

Just a comment about the motard crash.....

I was stood at the corner on the outside right by the fence when it happened in front of me.

Firstly how did such a large amount of fuel escape the tank so quickly in a relatively mild crash......

Then while i saw a yellow flag waved for while, no oil flag replaced it once the bike was ridden off. I could see the marshals on the inside looking at the patch of fuel and talking on the radio seemingly about the incident but then maybe two laps later another motard crossed it lost the front and crashed.

Maybe a flag could have given the rider at least some warning....we were waiting for someone to hit the patch of fuel but hoping they wouldn't and the first that properly did went down.

I dont understand why so many people keep going back, being my 1st time there i honestly thought it was just plain boring. You only see 1 corner at a time, and 7 of the 10 groups were just shithouse classic bike freight trains. The only highlights i thought were the crazy drifting buggers in the sidecar running the biscuts and the motards.

Getting involved, be it flag waving, helping a rider or playing photographer etc would make it a lot more interesting...... I prefer the camera option..... :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Got to feel for the guy below, but the crowd went wild for his bow on the hay bales... Good on ya mate.....

If I could've had a blast round the track on just one bike out there that day, I would've picked either that Harley (in non-exploding condition) or the orange Z1000.

Glad you're ok matey but it did give us a little chuckle....

I meet you briefly at Pukekohe when you came and spoke to Russ (R1) and John Hanna (CBR) in the pits on a track day.

I was at Paeroa with the same two people who said 'havn't seen Phil out there today, I'm sure he was meant to be racing here'.

I'd seen your bike in an earlier race but next thing you entered the scene bouncing along the hay bales....

Glad you and bike were ok.

Post 1... ah yes... point 5. Lets say it was... popular. I was at Point 6.

Bagman... yes, point 6 liked him, NOT. 5 secs for him to coat the track in slippery sawdust and what not, and it took us the entire interval, 3 people, to get a semi clear racing line. Ta, very considerate of you... leave the bags alone

cant quite work out what happened as in what started it all in the sidecar start, anyone?

anyone?Alex stalled and the chaos arround him was a result of someone connecting with him from behind. :pinch:

20th February 2008, 14:21
is alex that the yellow one?

No, the one in front of the yellow one, he stalled, yellow one tried to go around, not enough space and clipped him, spun and flipped.:pinch:

Joni
20th February 2008, 14:25
is alex that the yellow one?Alex is the one hidden on the right by the crowd... look again you will see him now that you know he is there. His swinger (his son) jumps off the chair to help.

He may have stalled, but damn, what an amazing man... he only started racing in his late fifties, and only started sidecars in his sixties! Go Alex!!!! What an inspiration.
