Some of you are aware that Yungatart and I will soon be 'old'...
So, in recognition of this momentous occassion, we are having a commisserationery get together.
Saturday, April 26th (Anzac w/e).
Good company, laughs and general frivolity is to be encouraged.
Anyone who needs accommodation, let us know and we will arrange (the local KBers are well used to dirty, smelly, leatherclad types).
EDIT - I (think) I've added as a calendar event. http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/calendar.php?do=getinfo&day=2008-4-26&c=0 Need to 'register' anyway

Tis my fault we cant go Friday, but we cant! I have a long standing and non-negotiable commitment to play at the Anzac service at Leigh. Holy Moly - I just checked airfares and they are very expensive (~$400+ return).

I'm wondering if anyone from Chch are considering going up there - whether taking a car or bike up, company for the road would be nice.

Yeah, they are bound to be cheaper. There's still a fair way from either destination to Napier.

I was even considering Hamilton - there's bound to be quite a few people from here heading through the Tron going to Napier for this epic event ;)
However, I'm not going to chuck my riding gear on the plane so pillioning is not an option - so it would have to be people going by car.

But wait there's more, try Chch to Wellie either airlines, then look at thrifty car rentals and check hot deals for relocations from Wellington to Hamilton, costs are petrol and collision waiver if you want it,have 2 days to get there, then hook up with anyone from Hamilton.Or check any rentals for relocations, some need cars to various locations, then you just grab the airtickets.

Gracious hosts do not sit at the 'puter leaving their guests unentertained, unfed and unrefreshed, you know. And neither do we!
We have been looking after our guests and visitors and only now have the opportunity to get on here.
Full report (well, my version) later.
Suffice it to say, we are all well!
The last of us got to bed about 4am after being severely and sternly told off for being too noisy. All (except for one) were up by 11, most by 9! Not a bad effort!

It was great to finally meet maha, mom, the 007's, madduck, tide, jacko2 & to see busa pete & wendy, & sticky again

Dooly thanks for the escort in the rain, & John as you can see we brought the good weather with us as requested

Now I must say a special thank you to Sugi for putting me up over the weekend .. the great fun we had on friday, the speical "sugi on road tuning" of Betsy :devil2:but most importantly of all being my "guiding light" back to his place .. it was a somewhat of a "special" ride with a true friend & awesome rider that I trust implicitly :shit:  but we rocked in to his place at 3.33am this morning  and admittedly it was quite fun  its the stuff memories are made of :innocent:

Where do I start? I got up in the morning, not a cloud in the sky! Chanceyy looked in surprisingly good shape considering her late night out on a hot date with my wife!!!! :jerry:

Went to take off, select 1st, let clutch out and motor dies, try it a few more times with same result. I send chanceyy on her way as I look for more toys to throw out my cot! :spanking: Anyways, I isolated fault to sticking side stand cut out switch and caught up to Chanceyy before Dannevirke. :devil2:

Met up with Dooley at highway 50 turn off and on to the parrrrrty. Missed the welcome wagon sortie out to meet the northen KB bretherin, ahh well.
Nipped off to Hastings to get lotto tickets for "she who must be obeyed". Thanks for the escort Sandra!

By the time we got back, pretty much the whole crew was there for the party. It was really great to catch up with old acquaintances, Busa Pete and Wendy, Stickchick, Madduck, and put faces to handles (Mom Mahaman, Mikkel, the 007's and other handles I cannot remember, sorry guys! Naturally it was awesome to catch up with the youthful birthday kids MSTRS and Old...opps Yungtart  The birthday speeches in particular had me pissing myself with many humour filled interjections from the cheap seats, strangely occupied by kbers!

Random comments: Mom, your much younger and more beautiful than I imagined, I never got enough of your story about discovering a near naked Mikkel in the bathroom, even after the 100th time you told it . 007, well I can see you must be close to featuring in your own avatar soon! Mikkel, how the hell you drank that much rum and still managed to stand I will never know, you defy the laws of physics man!

The highlight for me was the ride on some primo local roads, ably led my MSTRS. Blardy primo roads with great riders. Chanceyy sure had the boogie on, Madduck looked so smooth and confident on that Harley, awesome! And the best part of the ride for me, was Busapete and myself shredding up the road on the initial return leg, AWESOME fun!

I must thank MSTRS and Yountart for the awesome hospitality. The food was scrummy!!!!

Looks as if everybody had fun. (even the creative tattle tailer playing the ever popular 'grab the wrong end of the stick game')

Turns out the creative riding was not finished as on the way home a certain rz's headlights went awol, so it was close formation riding at 3 in the morning. My headlights are so naff I did not bother dipping them off high beam and no one bothered flashing me, hmmm, wheres Mikkel when you need him!!! :devil2:

Friday was of to a good start when we concerd madducks drive leaving shortly after for Taupo not before meeting up with the maha's after mom was finished blowing her trumpet. Bearly a car on the road all the way. Picked up a stray just out of Taupo cold and tired and looking at life through tinted visor. Checked in motel then headed of to dinner got over charged for dinner but we soon sorted that. Back to motel for a good nights sleep but not before our spa bath for two .

SaturdayGet woken up by the alarm clock at 6.30 What a dirty trick that was from the people before us Sent Archer on his way back to Auckland and went for our morning walk, back to motel after that to pack and meet up with others and the breakfast at the truckstop. If you have never been there i would suggest you did bloody good food and prices.
We are of over the hill heading for napier. Maha had one to many coffees so had to stop for a pee stop :I stopped on an old shity shirt that stuck to the tire and when i took of it wrapt around hub and sprocket. Afer half an hour and madducks little sizzers (thanks madduck and maha you did wash your hand didnt you) we where of again with our escort in tow (thanks mstrs).Get to house and it was decided we will head of for another ride Wendy decide she was going to go to gym :woohoo: time for me to play. Nice roads in them there hills .
good to see so many aucklanders make the trip what happend to the locals good night had by all.

sundayset of early for home took 1 hour from last bp napier side to the truck stop taupo .shit loads off traffic going north only hit small pockets of rain got home safe.

Sorry we could'nt make it, one of the rellies on the missus's side sucked the kumara on Saturday so that stopped a few things for the weekend. No big deal I never really knew the old duck anyway.

I enjoyed the ride down to pick up Chancey & Sugi, never really ride in the rain, so relished the chance to do so, test the skills and the winter riding gear I rarely use. Could'nt see in front of me at all at times with the visor down, but was great tho.

After coming home from your place J & J, was at Farmlands in Hastings.
Saw about 8 bikes pull up outside obviously out of towners with their packs etc, all on sprotsbikes, wondered if they were looking for your place. Was a few Ducs, Yamaha, Honda etc?

Right then….
The promised report from our perspective.
The Big Birthday Bash on Saturday started on Thursday at about 11pm with the arrival at ChezOurs of Colapop (who insists he is Col in real-life.. ) ably pillioned to these parts by Bloody Mad Woman (and who wouldn’t be to even consider doing that?). So a late night followed, pretending to be practice for the actual event. Friday some rose early to do the Anzac thing and some stayed home gathering strength to get busy gathering the necessaries for said event, then following progress from Orkland of Stickchick and Tide (what a patient man he is). Biggest trip attempted by Sticky and she did complete it, so well done girl!! (Helpful hint #35 – don’t stop so often and the rest at the end will be longer …:Pokey:). Mikkel, in the meantime is heading north and is expecting to require meeting at Takapau/HW50 at about 7ish. So arrange to call in at TeamCudby’s in Tikokino to collect Mike then head to the rendezvous…but get a txt from Mikkel to say he is just leaving Masterton (6.05pm)…oh good, time for a meal…then off to meet him. (I think watches, calendars and clocks etc aren’t yet in use in ChCh. Either that, or Mikkel misread what happens when one crosses the International Date Line :jerry: ). Get back to Napier with TeamCudby in tow as well, just in time to greet the 007s. We’ve got a fair houseful by now
So now that the troops are gathering, we had to have another practice run at being up late…*sigh*
Saturday dawns somewhat damp (bloody weather forecasters couldn’t be wrong this time, could they?). Get the call at about 10 that the Mahas, BusaPetes and Madduck are leaving Taupo , so 007XY and I jump on the bikes to go meet them. As luck would have it I got rain-kitted so of course the sun came out and that was the last rain we saw. Bloody forecasters – can’t trust ‘em…I was warm….
You’ve heard the shitty-shirt story, so moving right along, I gave the Orklanders the learn back to ChezOurs, where a welcome coffee got us in the mood for an afternoon pootle in the back blocks. Dooly had brought Chanceyy and Sugilite here in the meantime, which saved one of us having to do double duty in the greeting stakes. Phew!!! ( Even now I’m having trouble recalling all the arrangements…gods, I hope there isn’t a little Kber waiting somewhere for me to turn-up??…:spanking:). Off to get gassed up, 8 bikes head up SH5 and turned left up Glengarry Rd, through to Puketitiri Rd, and right to Rissington and then Patoka. A quick conflab and we decide to turn back (there may have been a spit or two of rain to help this decision, but just quietly I think the outlanders had run out of tissues  ). We took the slightly longer way home via Apley Rd and Puketapu/Poraiti, so about 120kms of HB Bliss. The Orklanders seem to think that ride was the HB version of a P run…what do they know? We never even went to Patangata or Parongahau...:Oi:Those that stayed behind had done a sterling job preparing the salads etc
Thanks girls – it’s good to know that KB chicks know their place (except Chanceyy – can the Manawatu crew please remedy that state of affairs, thanks).
Now we just settled in to the serious business of having the best time possible. And it was. Loads more arrived in dribs and drabs throughout the next few hours. Everyone got well feed (thanks me on BBQ duties). There was even an old man running about in his long johns at one stage scaring the good womenfolk. The evening sort of finished when the last three hanger-on were summarily executed at about 4am (we have neighbours, don’t you know). One of the photos earlier in the thread identifies them, if anyone wants to know – I believe a guitar was involved .
Those that had stayed appeared in a bleary-eyed coffee-bereft trickle from about 7am through to after 11 (there’s that South Islander and their odd sense of time again). The well-happy bods slowly shuffled off home, leaving the Warkworth branch to look after the newly-olds. They managed to tear themselves away from our sunny climes with a gentle ride in tandem to the Summit Tearooms, Te Haroto. I say ‘gentle’ so as to not offend their sense of self-esteem, so please nobody tell them that my tyres only warmed up on the way back…:chase:
Lastly, a huge thanks to all who came, participated, provided overflow accommodation and otherwise helped to make for a wonderful, memory-filled weekend of fun filled frivolity. We didn’t do anything but provide the venue – it was all of you who were here that made it such a great weekend. Thank you, one and all.:Punk::2thumbsup

Thanks for the escort Dooley, great to meet you, will catch you on a ride soon eh....

Yeah but it was such a good story !!!

MSTRS that ride you took us on still has me buzzing. What awesome roads you have down that neck of the woods and it was one of those days when I just felt at one with the bike. Thanks for the feedback Sugilite.

No problemo, well deserved...

Mom's always in the right place, at the right time :devil2:  And is certainly one of the best story tellers there are...
It was a pleasure meeting you as well Sugi...it just gave me cramps in my neck to stare upwards all the time though

OK, I'll get down on my knees next time, so you won't have as far to look up

Yes I noticed Mom was always in the right place, lurking outside the bathroom, BBQ, Booze top up station, she really gets about!

Off to get gassed up, 8 bikes head up SH5 and turned left up Glengarry Rd, through to Puketitiri Rd, and right to Rissington and then Patoka. A quick conflab and we decide to turn back (there may have been a spit or two of rain to help this decision, but just quietly I think the outlanders had run out of tissues.

I had my ear plugs in but I swear I heard "sniffle sniffle, panty pads wet, don't have anymore, whine, whine, can't handle 70 km's more of primo roads snivel snivel. Triumph has given me a soft on, whinge whinge" :innocent:

Oh golly gee whizz :o flattery in any form is always welcomed by a girl of a certain age! Was great to meet you too!

As for the almost naked young man in the bathroom *swoon* Did I mention it was steamy and warm in there too!

Yeah, if I had realised you were over the age of consent, I'd have made a pass, oh that's right you were to busy tossing salads to go on a ride

And yes, it was about replay number 50 that the steam was introduced to the legendary Mikkel in the bathroom story :jerry:

Besides, everyone knows that French girls are no good in the kitchen

Well fuck me! What a weekend. Lastish start on Friday but a great ride down to Taupo. MadDuck and myself managed to make a fixed camera (in the Waikato) take our pic, might send away for the 6''x4'' later this week. Friendly cops down that way, got a hand signal south of Tokoroa from HP so I did the decent thing and waved back, Im good like that. Onto Napier Saturday morning, a tad cool one might say so on goes the Adult sized condom to keep out the pending chill factor, yes Pete, sorry about that extra coffee mate but shit happens....and it did!...and, why did I think it was clay???...I had to smell it aye?...
Got to Napier a little later than what we wanted too, but that 'P' ride?? well worth the trip down, sexy as roads Johnboy, I did have a moment at one point but dont think anyone noticed
Party Time....what an absolutely great bunch of people. Jakco made it down from Auckland way, good to see ya again mate, Mikkel (OMFG) from Ch-Ch and us from Warkworth and some crazy ole' bugger from the Naki who likes to roam around in old mans underwear and latex mask...
Mikkel me ole mate???...how the hell you got through what you did, and was the last to go to bed??... huge effort mate
Awesome food on the tables, met some dudes and duettes that made the day/night all the more enjoyable. When the crowd started to thin out, the guitar made an appearance and was put to (shall I say good use?? ) not sure :shifty: but the singing and song choice was excellent (once again, not to sure on that either) Where the hell did 'Pidgeon Pie' come from?? Some lyrics just dont add up (at 3am) And as for Ying Tong?? for those that did not participate, you missed the highlight of the weeeeeee hours (aye YT?)
Four hours sleep for me...:headbang: Im tough :baby:
Rather slow day for us on Sunday (thank christ we booked an extra night) went out for tea Satuday Night to Breakers by the sea. Good ole' plate full of the right stuff, and also, none of us had to clean up after ourselves, back to party central for an earler night...in a bigger bed.
Monday dawned a real beauty in the Bay so the four grown ups that were left pootled towards Taupo (thanks J and J for the escort to the Top. Low cloud and bit shitty on the Napier/Taupo rd but no rain, and once in Taupo it fined up and all good the rest of the way... 300 Miles or 480 kms later (house to house) we arrived home....6 and a Half hours, three ciggy stops and a toasted sammy in Wairaki. Wairaki to Hamilton in Hour 1/2...Hamilton to Bombay in 1 hour, then non stop to Warkworth, that was the worst part, arse needed kneading by the time we got to around Silverdale but pushed on home....ahhhhhhhhhhh pop goes the arse cheeks as I dismount....:(
Love and good wishes to all that attended this weekend, you all made the few days away really pleasent and most enjoyable, Thank U'ssssss
Cheers MSTRS and OlderTart, Ya'll the bestest

And here is Ying Tong....''COME ON LET ME HEAR YA'' !!
