Hi guys,

Anyone interesting in trying their Adventure bike out on the race track?
Sportzone suzuki runs several events a year named "Have a go" race days for intermediate riders of all bike types.
The next one in on Saturday 01 March 2008

I have been to a couple and they are great fun, see the link:

The more Adventure bikes the better

See you there

Ya reckon they will let me out on the track with a set of D606's on. Might be easier to go around the outside i.e. the grass. :D

Maybe if I do another 1000kms or so I'll have turned the 606's into a nice set of slicks. Might have to have ago one day.

Cheers R

KR mag tested the DR650 with road tyres at taupo it was a good write up they had a shit load of fun on it.
looks like a great idea it would be the only legal way to ride my DR on the tarseal

I use the Bridgestone Battlax BT45 on the front but recommend a Pirelli Sport Demon 140/70-17 for the rear. It is oversize so you will always have chicken strips on the outside edge unless you can lean it over till the sprocket is scraping too. If they let go when still cold its controllable but they grip great when hot.

I probably wont be at Ruapuna but will definatley be at Levels on the 15th March for the Otago have a go day.

We did and we did!

You can bring your DR to a Suzuki Owners track day and run whatever tyre you like as long as it is not rooted.
