Ok guys and girls on KB, I am looking for a fully qualified sparky who can help me out.
If you live out in West Auckland or near West Auckland then that would be cool.... less travel for you......

I have a HPM Instant heat 2 ducted unit that needs to be fitted in my bathroom Heat / Lamp / Exhaust fan ducted

The distance from the existing light to the outside wall isn't that long, so the fan tube can be pushed throu to the person (me) on the outside of the house.
(28 inches from light bulb to wall by the window)

If you can help me get this light/fan fitted I would be greatful to your help.
I am about to get the bathroom ceiling repainted yet again due the ceiling paint peeling off..... so having this unit fitted and working will help stop this from happening again.

Can you either pm me or leave a message in here for me if you can help me out or know of someone.......

Cheers.

Mods: if this is in the wrong place, please move it and let me know where you have put it. Thanks.

Crashe, what's your ceiling made of? Ours is old fibreboard type stuff (old State house) and we are replacing it with Aqualine when we put the extractor fan in because a builder mate of mine said that those ceilings absord water even if you have a fan.

Worth thinking about before you put in the fan if you have the same ceiling.

Cheers Mully...

The house was built 30 years ago..... normal gib-board ceiling type.

What we (painter and I) think, has happened is the builders never sealed the gib-board ceiling in the bathroom... and just put a coat or two of paint up..... hence the peeling etc. No other room in my home has had this problem.

So the painter is going to redo it properly.... but putting up the heat/fan unit will be of help as well.

Ahh, you're probably right then. Ignore my attempt at helping. But if you find a good cheap sparky, let me know cos we will need one soonish.

how many square meters is your bathroom Crashe??...
An average sized bathroom requires between 5-10 air changes per hour... (dependant on size of said bathroom).

My family business is electrical work & I am a key account manager for electrical products... (actually just had training on fans etc last week LOL)...

The placing of the fan is also paramount... the heat & vent combo is a good unit however the heat lamps will not heat up the room and reduce condensation.... the heat lamps give direct heat to heat you.

is there a window in your bathroom?? do you have a heater towel rail? (all this stuff is relevant believe it or not)...

Im training tomorrow so not at work, but if you'd like... with a bit more info I can give you the best solution :)... if need be any materials or additional bits to achieve optimisation... I can hook u up with mates rates too (less than trade)... more than happy to give advice etc :)

If you are renovating a bathroom... it is now a regulation that aqualine gib goes in... (true story!!!)

I know a few good sparkies too... and materials... ;)... hey... its my job

The Modena range of switchgear is nice!... Some pretty nifty looking non-conventional switches/sockets (just as reliable) avail these days... its all about what you like... what kinda work ya looking to be doing?? :) lights... etc... anything electrical... I can quote for you :2thumbsup

Jeez, why don't you fill the thread advertising....

We may want a new bath in the near future. And a small vanity in the toilet (well, not *in* the toilet, in the toilet room).

We are replacing the bathroom ceiling with aqualine, painting it with some stuff I forget the name of (sealer) before painting and installing a fan/light/heater combo too. Plus want some security lights and the like installed. Hence the sparky requirement.

1.7metre long X 1.65 metre wide.......
Yeah it aint a big room...... but it does the job. The bath/shower is the length of the room..... with the vanity unit beside it.

Yep it has a window above the vanity/sink unit.
No heater towel rail...

Oh goodie...... I need a new lou.... the S bend thingeee goes out the wall...

One day I am going to redo the bathroom.... got the showerbath already all covered up out in the garage.... and the new floor..... just need the little corner vanity unit...... and when its to be done....then I will get in the wall gib stuff and the wall liner.... got no where to store it upright and keep it in good condition so thats why the wall stuff comes in last.

But first off is the ceiling sorted and fitting the heat/fan unit.

Better off to get a better 150mm inline fan only unit these hpm 2 in 1;s dont have a great air movement rate ,you'll only have same problem with wet ceiling hence paint falling off in no time again and get a seperate heater ,will cost more but will last a lot longer

Do you really want me to answer that Swoop? If I tell you, it's not possible to be un-told again.
