As I was going to say:

OK KBers - It's the fourth Round of the Castrol Oil New Zealand Superbike Road Race Championship (http://www.nzsbk.co.nz/) Series.

Get your arses to Manfeild. Saturday looks the better weather at this stage. It will be great racing and a good chance to see some KBers up against NZ's top talent and the foreigners.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

It will be a great weekend's racing, Joni! I'm gutted, am going to miss it - No.1 son binned his mountain bike into a tree and is on crutches, No.3 son binned his mountain bike while attempting to launch it off a skateboard ramp and has an arm in plaster ........ geez the sooner they get into motorbikes the better - mountain biking's dangerous! :gob:

Any-hoo ...... Go Kick and Divvo! Hope the new outfit goes well, will be a great outing for it. And go Scrivy and Bob

Can't wait to hear all your race reports next week

For me its exciting having two mates racing in F1 as well... White Trash and Bren_Chch, both are such talented boys... If I was there I would not know who to cheer on ... so I would just be waving my arms frantically in support of everyone

yup was exciting until they decided to send cubmans out to "sight" the track and race so they can decide if it was fit for the 125's and superbikes to race on :)
noughty side car spilling oil round the whole track! selfish to say the least when it endangers so many others!

Pete the pom #111 he had a chain flick off on the Saturday and it damaged the engine case, for some reason it didn't start leaking until part way through the 1st Sunday race, I don't know if he didn't realise (because if he did he should have bloody pulled off) and it can't have been obvious to the marshals or he should have been black flagged

I think the real offenders were the guys on Howards old outfit that did most of a lap pouring smoke & lubricating the track, Pete was only spitting enough to make his back tyre slippery.

'Howards old outfit' was just tyre smoke... Back wheel had glued itself up solid by the time we tried loading it onto the crash cart.

Pete's oil was a fine spray, unless you got the light right you couldn't really see it. But there was long lines of it!

Geezuz mate. I've said it for years, 'long bikes give me the shits!!' Shock mounts breaking, rear wheel rod ends breaking - causing chains to fling off. All the LCR bikes that have come into NZ need to be thouroughly gone over and have a full on maintenance program implemented. What happens when they sell them to 'poorer' teams in the future?? Are they gunna know what to replace and when?? Are they going to have the money to replace all the said bits??
I think that the speeds that they do, they are bloody dangerous on our bumpy circuits! They certainly should not be allowed to do street circuits. How many long bikes suffer serious gear failure immediately after racing the street rounds?? LOTS!!
I think I'll stick to my post classic rig............. now, was that the Busa or the BMW..........

So you've never seen any failures on short bikes then? because I can think of a few, and one of them was the rear shock mount breaking last weekend and I think it more likely the chain breaking took out the rod end not the other way around

I doubt "poorer teams" will be buying them because of the cost of buying them in the first place

Wasn't my day! I was sitting on the dummy grid waiting to go out when my bike slowly died, and wouldn't re start. After doing a lot of work it went (while everyone else were exiting the hairpin) and so I had to try and catch them back up. got a few people and got the 2nd fastest lap time.

We think the fuel tap must've had a small block or for some reason didn't open right up.

Yes I believe that I did get some of you as well, (in fact given the amount of photo's that I took, I would be VERY surprised if I didn't get a shot of EVERYbody, somewhere on the track at some stage over the weekend :sunny: ), however bearing in mind that this is my first camera (apart from a box brownie that I had ?0 years ago), I have only owned it a matter of weeks and this was my first practice attempt at capturing any action on the track - they are cetainly not 'up there' in terms of clarity, sharpness and detail. I don't want to get your hopes up... as I have mentioned elsewhere, there were some VERY experienced professional photographers on hand to get 'the' shot on the day, and I am sure that they have their pic's available on their respective sites.

I am happy to have a look and dig out one or two, but it is on the understanding that you understand and accept the disclaimer above :eek5::whistle: :2thumbsup

The photos you got of me look very good! for a first practice you must be doing well. (One time I tried taking some I had a whole lot of empty track because the camera didn't take it when I thought it did)

Mate, Any photos better than no photo lol
So I agree with your terms

ha ha ha - excellent. :sunny: I will have a look tonight for you.

The photos you got of me look very good! for a first practice you must be doing well. (One time I tried taking some I had a whole lot of empty track because the camera didn't take it when I thought it did)
thanks again for the photos of me, and everyone else that got some of me, Theyre very appreciated as I had a sponsor that wanted to see what their logo looked like on the bike.
Thanks again
Tim

Thanks! I really appreciate that

There are a couple that I secretly (not so much now :dodge:) am very happy with - can only get better eh? And I absolutely REFUSE to divulge how many photo's of an empty track that I took in the process

PM me the sponsor name and where the name / decal is and I will see if I have a clear shot of that as well.

Thanks Mrs K - I really appreciate the encouragement. I have had some awesome advice this week from Dave http://www.Picturesports.co.nz that I will be trying to put into practice this weekend at the CDMTC track day, if I am able to get midfield.:niceone:

And here's one of the Pirelli display - those guys did a great job all weekend.
We were in the pit garage next to them - there was a constant stream of people lining up for tyre changes, I don't think they got a break until (well after) the racing was over.

And a few more (Gunner took these ones). Clubmans' start showing Andrew Forward and Peter Tanner getting off the line. Two infeild wheelie shots - of Jay Lawrence and Kyle Key.
