A polite request about nudity in avatars

Hello Family,
I find I often have to PM fellow KBers about their nudie avatars. And so I thought I'd just do a blanket post.

I often check out KB's at work (believe me nothing else to do sometimes) I work for a Govt Dept and they monitor what we look at. Anywaaaaaaay, my request is:

Could those of you who have avatars with naked women, wobbling, shaking or doing whatever else you can manipulate them to do, please edit them to indicate they contain nudity. It is a very simple process of going into your avatar settings and clicking on the option 'contains nudity'.

Everyone can still see your avatar, except for people like me who have their personal settings not to show nude avatars.

Good point Celtic_Sea_lily, don't want to get done at work if someone catches a peak at some form of nudity while viewing the KB site.

Look up. See the picture next to Quasievil's Name? That's an avatar. A image or icon projected into another environment that represents you.

For example Celtic Sea Lily has an avatar of a tennis ball riding a harley, and Quasievil has a family snap for his.

After looking through the member list, there are only three members with nudy avatars (including this one) and only one has not clicked the nudy option.

OK, I don't have to worry, since I have fairings on my bike. But what about all the people who don't? There's heaps of people with naked bikes, must they ALL go change their avatars? I think this is just a hidden agenda against naked bikes, but you must realise, we can't all have pretty fairings, like me ;) :first: :shake:

This voluntary censorship doesn't work guys unless you indicate that your avatars and attachments contain rude bits by clicking the nudy option.

That, to me, makes no sense. If it was accidental, how can the company expect him to resign? If companies are so strict, with no possibility for extenuating circumstances, then they should install software to prevent pornographic content being accessed.

Look at what happened with Casey Donovan, the new AUS idol. The media company dealing with her official website advertised their site, omitting a rather important .au , sending all the young fans to a porn site, with a full frontal, uncensored picture of a nude male on the opening page. Do you think thats fair to be expected to "resign" because of that? I think not :shutup:

Now if that guy was accessing content that was likely to contain pornographic images/media, then I guess thats his own fault. Alot of companies just ban private internet use alltogether, for these reasons.

Thats why I said "resign", I was trying to be sarcastic - sorry didn't make that clear, he was bloody lucky he was allowed to resign. Of course he wasn't acidentally accessing it - how can you? Our net spies can tell if you've accessed i.e gone into a web site as opposed to something popping up. He was also sending x-rated messages through a dating web site - I guess he did it at work so his pregnant girlfiend wouldn't know.
