Gravel road! Find one near you and do a few k's
Takes no time to scrub in a tyre, I promise!

I put that wrong.. But ive heard a few people say they wipe the tyres with something to take the slippery stuff off??? Apparantly there coated with stuff that helps release them from the mould?

You can use a solvent such as brakleen. But really with replacement tyres they're actually pretty good from new. By all means take care for the first few K's but after that just ride as you normally do.
This does not apply to a brand new bike with the factory fitted tyres!
Believe me I know.

LOL...Grubby boy, yes the most embarrassing front tyre you have ever seen, it has titties where no self respecting tyre should.

wiping it off dosnt really do much exept remove a bit of the wax.
the tyre has to get warm for the rest to ooze out of the rubber...
tyres that have been used and sit around are worse then brand new tyres because they go "off".

That's my understanding as well. I've always been weary of putting anything like brakecleen on tyres.

Running in tyres? WTF? You put the tyres on one fuckin bike and make them go round and round.

Well good gawd. I thought I'd moved to a country where men were men and all that. All the guff I hear in the pub about how "hard" kiwi's are and then I read tripe like this.........softcocks :-)

I think I'm destined to ride new tyres in rain. When I put Avon's on my ZXR it rained.
Then later I picked up my brand spanking new 600 in the middle of a storm. Was pretty funny. The guys are Cyclespot were like "you've got insurance right?"
Big S's down the motorway should scrub in enough of the tyre to begin with. Just don't use heaps of lean at first then build up lean slowly and you'll be sweet.
You really need a few proper heat cycles to get the gunk to come out of the surface so save the hero riding till after you get a dry day out.
