No gear is waterproof, gear is full of holes, ie neck hole arm holes leg holes, waist to pants hole, the fabric might be waterproof but some water gets in.
We get asked alot when selling our waterproof gear "is it breatheable"? which is stupid as where air goes water goes, so air goes into and around your neck so will the water as well.
Its a hard one to find complete waterproof and as far as Im concerned it doesnt exist.
Check out our stuff on www.quasimoto.co.nz (http://www.quasimoto.co.nz) while your at it, we have the touring gear on special for next to nicks.
other than that good luck dude.

got some mobig pants, and from alot of use in the wet weather i would say they are only 80% waterproof,by this i mean they waterproof everywhere except the crotch :oi-grr:
other than this they have kept me very warm and dry ,just not much in the crotch area.

Got some Mobig pants for the Scrambler trips about a year ago.
As Hornet250 says, they are reasonably w/proof. But not totally. If it's heavy rain, I still put my one piece storm suit on.
Regular w/proofing with snow seal spray goes a long way to good w/proofing of all pants/jackets.
Beeswax for leather.
The Mobig is comfy n adaptable. But it will be worn out re stitching etc in about three yrs.
Nothing comes close to being as water/weather proof as my Branchi one piece storm suit. 15yrs old, and still doing the business. got it in Aus, don't know if you can buy it here.
Hope this helps.
Humans are waterproof. It's the windchill that kills.

Haha - too true, expecially the crotch bit. I've got Mobig pants and Jacket. I've had them for 2 years and they are fine. Nothing will keep you dry if it is really pouring down. I've got a 1 piece DriRider rain suit which I wear over top when it's raining. I only trust the other stuff as shower proof, rather than rain proof.

I will consider them all. I think the idea of waterproofing them sounds like a good scheme.....cheers

No complaints. Only ridden in a torrential downpour once, and as expected my back got a bit wet. All in all though I find them pretty bloody good waterproof wise.

The closest you're going to get to *waterproof* is Goretex or equivalent. And quality gear with Goretex ain't cheap.

Mobig is really averagely made stuff. Smells like Pakastan. But I spose you get what you pay for.
