I recently purchased a Spidi Airtech ladies' jacket from Motomail and it's brilliant! It is mostly made of mesh, so the air can pass straight through and keep you cool for summer riding. But it's still got shoulder and elbow armour and abrasion-resistant panels for safety.

This is the first time I've seen air-mesh jackets for women (Shift, RJays and others do men's ones). It's got a really flattering cut and people comment how good it looks - a bonus when nice women's gear is hard to find.

It also comes with an optional wind/waterproof vest (which I haven't tried yet) for cooler days.

Unfortunately I can't find it on Motomail's web site and can't find an online pic to link to... so you'll just have to go into the store and try one for yourself!

I saw a Neo airmesh jacket in Hastings while travelling and would have bought one but they didn't have my size. I tried to find who sells them on the internet but had no luck. The Neo was $165, nice and light and looked okay.

How much was the Spidi?

aha... here's a pic. They call it "Netline" which is why I couldn't find it...

The grey bits are mesh and the black bits are anti-abrasion stuff.

It cost $299 at Motomail (fortunately Santa Claus knows what I like and brought me Motomail vouchers for Christmas :D)
