First bucket meet is next Sunday, so hubby will take some pics of Pammy once she's finished, me riding her and all the others gals out there on their buckets (and the boys too). Anything else you want to know, fire away, happy to chat about it.

What distrubution company is handling this mag.
Makes it easier for shops ( like ours ) to get hold of it when requested by a customer. Not all shops get new publications automatically.

Got mine yesterday and read it all the way back to work.
Love it and love that it is pretty and girly without being stupid girly...ya know what I mean...it's aesthetically pleasing without being all woosie.
Anyway I was so proud of Flame that I showed my whole team, they were very impressed too though they did take too much delight in asking whether I could do wheelies like that and watching me sadly reply no.
I also suggested to the staff at Dymocks :Police: that they not place price stickers right in the middle of the cover page (right on Flames bike?!) as if I had ripped the picture by removing it I woulda come back for a replacement!

I saw a few copies on the mag stand at the Mobil Garage in Murchison, so maybe more Mobils have them?
Whitcoulls aren't stockists (yet!) but I've asked them if they will start ordering it in. Paper Plus in Motueka said they would if they got orders. Apparently I need to write to someone at W's head office so I will do that after I get back from Welly in 10 days, unless anyone else wants to do it befor then? Lots of women riders in the Nelson area so we could do with a mainstream stockist here, at least.

Hi Max
Will request my distributor to see if can put in Whitcoulls or Paperplus stores next time however, this is ultimately up to them. However, pressure on the outlets themselves to request it may help in this matter. There are a few stores that the mag's are in; check out my original opening thread and view the spreadsheet for the outlets.

Hi Meekey Mouse
Good on you - really great to see that you are interested in putting a story through, look forward to receiving it - if you have pictures please note they need to be no smaller than 300dpi or send them through as large as you can so I can downsize to the correct size and dpi.
If anyone is unsure if they can do an article or not, just give it a go, you might surprise yourself as did the people who wrote the articles in the first issue. Normally work on 500 to 1000 words if possible, otherwise if longer we can make it a serial.

Read one last week - loaned by a KBr. I hope this keeps going as it is great to read up about some real people and their experiences. The mag will need some advertising I am guessing to keep it financial and I like a few ads on stuff to wear and look good in etc.

Hi Cindymay
Yes you are correct, would be good to get some advertisers on board, unfortunately, NZer's take a wait and see attitude towards anything new, it is hard to get people to come on board even after they have stated they would like to advertise. However, I will endeavour to keep pushing in the hopes that someone will be an early adopter and will advertise in NZ's only Female Motorcycling Magazine.
Thanks

Actually it's available in some surprising places. I picked mine up from my local lunch bar in Ellice Road, Glenfield. As far as I know I'm the only female rider in the area so I was surprised and delighted to see it there. :)

Thumpers Cafe in Whakatane. Go see Glen and the team. They're a bike retail and work shop and cafe all rolled into one. Good food, good people, open weekends, we loved it.Just been to Thumpers for brekky. It was great. Nice espresso, yummy mince on toast, and a very friendly greeting from the owner before we even got our helmets off. I was only half joking when I asked "if sport bikes were welcome here" as the joint is very cruiser-styled, but i received a very enthusiastic, if not somewhat surprised "hell yeah" in reply, followed by a short chat about KB and bike stuff.
So Thumpers is our new hangout for lunchies etc. They talk about franchising all over NZ so I hope it goes big for them.

Yep. Nelson is screaming out for something like that. We have good bike shops here, especially Filco and Nelson Motorcycles, but there's no place like Thumpers in the area. For a place jam-packed with riders, both local and visiting, I can't believe nobody's set something like it up here already.
Any takers? I'd be ya first customer!

Hi C. Couple of things, Cafe Cuba in Parmy is great - just down the road from ANZA (which is a bike shop that opens on a Sunday!!). It is truely a great way to spend a sunday - spin up to parmy, cruise the bike shop then have some great food in the cafe.
Also I read the suggestion about track days, I have done two now and heading off to my third on Anzac weekend. Cant promise you anything but could write something up and try to get some photos taken.....

Apparently some crazy chick has been invited to set a womens two wheel NZ land speed record....Not sure yet if it will be set as an MNZ 'Official' record, but at the least it will be the Womens Cliffhanger NZ record. She could make an attempt at a semi-interesting story for the gals if I ask her real nicely.
Its to run at the NZ two wheel record attempt in Nov. Along with some real fast 'dudes' :niceone:

BP here in Whakatane has them... so maybe your local BP is a good place to try. Don't go to the Whakatane BP for your copy though, I just bought the last 2 issues:shifty:

Heh, I was with Jill when testing the R6 and 675 back to back. It was 675 all the way for me, but the R6 for Jill. Girlie reasons though!

Hi Nicksta
Yes I do have back issues of #3 that are available - PM me with what you would like and I will come back to you.
Also to update everyone - the next issue will now be selling in some Borders stores, definitely Dymocks stores and Mag Nation - I will update the outlet information once the magazine has gone on sale. I apologise to everyone that has been having difficulty in locating the magazine, if you go in to Paperplus ask them to order the issue for you and they will do this. Any questions please feel free to PM me.

Hi Guys
I know I told you all the magazines would be out in the shops by now, however have just come back from oversea's to find that there was a delay at the printers due to an urgent job coming in and the mag was put on the back burner - I have been informed by the distributors that they will be out next week.
I apologise to you all for this delay and can assure you it will be sorted out for next year.

Hey Cheryl,

Hi Trudy
In answer to your question above it is with deep regret that I have had to pull the magazine from the market place - the last issue out was the one prior to Christmas. Due to a rapid decline in sales etc without going in to too much detail it was no longer viable to continue.
I would like to give a sincere thank you to yourself and everyone who supported the magazine, I was very passionate about it and hoped it would be picked up better than what it was - I am aware that there will be a lot of disappointed people out there and for this I am sorry. This was not a decision I came to lightly, it was extremely difficult but felt that I had no choice.
Again, a big thank you to everyone that supported the magazine. Ride hard and be safe out there.

Bummer! I even had my mum keen on it - having lent her all of the issues so far recently she was starting to look at my riding a lot more favourably.
Sorry we won't get to see more of FMRiders but thanks for the few issues I do have :niceone:

We have your last issue here, this mere male thought it was a tremedous read.
Sorry to here that, I enjoyed all the issues. You did a great job
I guess it is a small market & one that would be slow to build a following, most gals I know usually know off it through word off mouth.
One thing I noticed is it is usually hard to find on the shelves unless you are looking for it you would miss it. The retailers did nothing to make it easy to be seen & was usually hidden behind the mens mags. Shame on them.

I agree with all the other comments Cheryl. Really enjoyed being part of the mag, and seeing it pass thru all the hands that it has around here. Everyone who checked it out down here seemed pretty impressed by it.
