Unofficial practice went ok, i had some really old tyres on to use up for a blast around to get some track time running high 13s and 14s i figured my times would come down with some new tyres.....
Official practice and qualifying, i put on a new set of rubber and did my 2 practice sessions and to my disappointment my times were still the same, my bike felt really unsettled and i just couldnt get the power down really messed my confidence so in a last ditch effort before qualifying we went and saw ricky from pirelli and he hooked me up with some new pirellis and i chucked away my other brand! I went out for only 3 laps in qualifying so i didnt use up my only set of tyres and set a 1.118 nearly 3 secs a lap faster then on the other brand of tyre within only 3 laps!!!
race 1, I got a good jump off the line but i made a hash of the first turn i think the nerves got the best of me being my first real race back from my collar bone incident... I came back to 14th in that race but my bike seemed to be down on power in the top end...? although my result in this race wasnt that great i was happy with my riding and had gained some valuable experience
race 2, I wanted to redeem myself on the start but the clutch on my zx6 had another idea! I should have felt it going in the previous race thats why my bike was down on top speed, i did my best to keep racing with the slipping clutch but after a second start in the same race due to a red flag the clutch had nothing left and i was forced to retire....
all in all i had a great weekend, my results didnt come but i learnt so much that its only a matter of time and i will be right in the thick of it!
It also helped with my decision in what class is right for me and to be honest the 600 class is where it is at! so in the very near future i will be upgrading to a newer more competitive bike set up for me and with my confidence back to where it should be keep an eye out ;)
