you cant/wont

There is a japanese site where a guy has written his own, there is also the bandit forums (sorry at work so dont have time to find links)

I have a '90 model (45hp) and know a fair bit about them - perhaps i can help?

There's quite a few Japanese Language tutors out there.

There isn;t an English language one as the Bandit 250 was Japanese market only.

You can't get a manual or a reference document in English.

you wont find one, ive tried.
best i ever found was a jap translation for part of one that made bugger all sense.
its a gsxr250 motor anyway so look for that.
there is some good stuff online about the forks and genral stuff that i once found.

marioc, i have access (out of work hours :devil2:) to a large photocopier

also i'd be keen to see what you've got there

the jap site was good to me, run it through google and ignore all references to "the great sea bass bandit" and you'll be fine - shows all the workings of the carb/fuel system really well

basically its the owners manual.
Not the workshop manual.
Covers all the basic shit like chain tensions, lube points blah blah you know the drill.

i have a '88 GSXR 250 and was in the same situation as you but i descovered this site: www.repairmanualclub.com which had a pdf version of the original owners manual for my bike which should be similar to the bandit (engine wise)

only problem is you have to register but its worth it, btw dont bother looking for repair manual, clymer, hanes etc pretty sure it doesnt exist.

How are these bandits?

I went to Colemans Suzuki today and saw a bandit with a huge rear tire and not a bad looking body... I am just not keen about the naked look on the nose end..

How 'annoying', as it were, is having wind gushing on you @ 110kph via a naked bike, in comparison to a sport with full fairings?

I am a tall guy and have noticed these bandits are a little bit taller than some of the sports, for example - and I dont want to close off my options just because I have a preference for Sports like FZR and CBR.

Because also I am not going to be a commuter, I want something which is going to last me at least two years of having fun without getting bored of a lesser bike. This is why I want the performance of the CBR or FZR for example.

Cheers

Bandits are quick 250's [oxymoron] 40hp as opposed to 45 for CBR/ZXR etc. They handle bloody well and are very reliable.
You get blown about on the motorway however.

Well I never found A 250 service manual. But I did get a Bandit 400 manual for 91/92. here (http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=A6011A0C66B78CDA). the bikes are pretty similiar it seems. Can only download for the next five days before the link self destructs!

Believe it or not, Jim... the Bandit 250 was available new in Aussie for a couple of years... about '99-'00. Annie bought a new Jap market Bandit 250 here in '00, and Suzuki NZ supplied us with an English owner's manual, for the E24(Aussie spec) bike

Pretty damn good. I'm a working man now, which means all sorts of shiny things for the Bandit! New chain and sprockets what the last treat - dropped a tooth off the front sprocket and she goes so damn fine now. :D

Will have to grab ya on MSN sometime soon. :)
