To tell the truth, I never hang out in the Asia/Oz/Kiwi forum, it's always Ride Reports :ride:or Thumpers :bash:for me with the odd look into Jo Momma. :eek5:
Any Kiwi stuff I just talk about on here.

Anything to get you Rock Hoppers off this site and leave it for real bikes and bikers.

We're all coming to Wobblington at the end of April Jim, I have your address....

I enjoy Adv rider but like being able to talk to local riders on here so I'm not sure I need another forum. If we look at how diluted KB has become with Sportsrider etc being set up I wonder if we aren't better with one strong forum rather than two weaker ones?

I voted too for a separate forum for kiwis

After the crap that went down a few weeks ago with mods deleting posts that were off topic and some great pics being removed (as per the rules) in OUR forum section (which I think we police ourselves pretty good), I became somewhat disillusioned

I suspect that once it is setup properly that those that don't visit there now, will do in the future and will make it a great forum with plenty of good rides/stories etc etc

My thoughts

A split was talked about a while back and the concensus was to leave it as it was.

I have enough trouble keeping up with one site so don't normally take much notice of Adv rider. If we were all on one or the other then I don't care which. In saying this if we are moving to ADV then defiantly want a kiwi forum. We tend to get swamped by the convics. For this reason only I'll vote for the Kiwi forum.

I personally agree with the limited pics and pic sizes in the thread thing else it just makes it bloody hard for the dialers. Not their fault that NZ has sucky infrastructure, so why should they have to suffer/have difficulty participating. NZ isnt just about the city folk!

Also while the thread is much easier to read with the pics embedded every time somebody puts up a new post and ya go for a looksee the bloody pics get downloaded again. I do realise that there are settings in the browsers for preventing the downloads but do ya really want to be turning that on and off the whole time????

I'm for staying with the "backwards" KB system (I ride a "backwards" DR too - maybe this is saying something :D) If ya desperate for inline pics start a thread on ADV and link it here but otherwise I'd prefer to stay here.

Cheers R

P.S. Yes I do have dial up at work and at home.

As a long term member of AdvRider, I would urge you guys to leave it as it is.
There is enough common ground and interaction for us both to benefit.

Both 4skins and myself have seen a lot of positive benefits (including some good rides a couple of new mates) from the combined forum. After all, our nearest "foreign" riding patch is Aussie.

I've asked that we get some "sticky" threads specific to us (like Ride Reports & Flea Markets) to make it more relevant to us. It is worth notong that all those voting for a forum split have very low post counts - perhaps you guys should try and make it work and get to know it before changing it.

The present forum lumps NZ and Oz in with all the rest of Asia. it's Asia, Australia, and NZ.

The original proposal wa to split off the Asian bit. So, have Asia on its own and (NZ + Oz) .

I'm easy about NZ + OZ (the poor buggers can't help being like they are , it's the lack of water, causes madness). But I don't see any sense in us (NZ , or Oz) being lumped in with Asia.

I don't just agree with all this, but will add to it.

The Aussies' perspectives - and versions of wit - are refreshing, just like riding in back country Australia.

KB provides an at-home NZ forum for adv riders already: I'll be voting to stay in with Oz on ADVRider. The Asian input is pretty small much of the time, and is often from Oz/NZ riders anyway.

Get passed in the twistys by some bugger on chook chaser did we? :D:

Splitting off the Asia forum over on Adv is a good idea, otherwise I don't mind the status quo. Here is good for local stuff & organising rides. When posting up a ride report I'd rather have it on Advrider for more to see.

Cheers

Stand up for yourself kiwis - deal to the sheep :buggerd:

A flat? Anything in the tyre? I didn't notice anything when I last rode it.

How you managed to keep the SE is....criminal.

Slow leak in the front. Prolly valve core.

The SE?
I rode it work this morning.
I call it "Mal" - that's short for "Malice Aforethought".
It just makes me wanna do bad things...

Nice, I might have to hang out there more now, Te Hopo is the handle on ADVRider.
Will certainly be keeping an eye on Oscars Ride Planning thread any way.
