Signatories are required to sign documentation before their chosen SRC meeting or before the club becomes actively involved in AUSA events.

Either we hold a meeting this friday or we just go with our wildwest minutes from last year. The membership list will be short to make it simple (pretty much all of you that showed for the meeting at wildwest) Constitution, well, we do not have to have a custom one, you are able to just use the ausa constitution, with additions if there are any.

2008 activities, i've got a few set but any extras???
Accounts, well, we dont get one till affiliated so they've got nothing to audit!

Also need someone to take care of the club accounts (treasurer). STICK YOUR HANDS UP YEE BASTARDS. I assume nish is going to be secretary bitch. :spanking:

Fine with me, if the meeting's in Karaka, at my house, after 5, :pinch:! Working 4-5 tomorrow arvo (I know I'm a workaholic, push myself way too hard!), and wouldn't wanna interfere with the traffic heading into town...

But feel free to head out this way. Bit late notice though maybe?

Haha! Well I had a few little turns (like just start stop start) and then I went to Madison's birthday and then I went on a ride with Squiggles (which was awsome!) and I decided that I wanted to ride my own :shit: which I think was a bit of a surprise haha. I mean, I'm still shit scared about it all but I'm learning slowly, not on the road yet slowly haha. I dunno... Just tell her its actually fun! If she's not scared with going on the back then she'll be fine and it's so much more fun being in control!! If she's that type of girl:bleh:

Hi Sofa, good on ya for getting in to it! Mei's got $2ks worth of some of the best riding gear (Shoei helmet, back protector, corduras, gloves boots etc), I made her buy it if she wanted to come riding reguarly with me on the back. The problem is that I think she has become too comfortable on the back of my bikes and has found an alternative "control" in stabbing me in the ribs or smacking the back of my helmet when something not to her liking occurs i.e. peg scrapping.

So yeah, I guess I need to accept the fact that she just isn't keen to get into riding her own bike.

But again, good on ya! Now, before you buy a bike spend 2k on gear and if you have any money left over after that, then put it towards a bike i.e. not the other way around... Safety first!

She's already all geared up :) Maybe not quite 2 grand's worth though! I nice HJC helmet with Cordura jacket (pink of course) and pants, and nice armoured gloves. Only thing needed now is some decent shoes/boots.

Has Mei every tried at all to ride? I guess it's harder when you don't exactly have a learner friendly bike to give her a go on... Even my one is kinda pushing it for starters I reckon lol the revs make Soph think she's gonna wheelie or something!

But yeah maybe even see if she's keen just to go do the lesson + basic handling with riderskills see what she thinks :niceone:

I'll prob park in that painted triangle near where the staff park their cars, off the driveway the buses come in on. I'll be heading out their very soon so you might see me in about 40 mins. Tamaki is always quiet, except for when the buses arrive. It usually gets worse to as people stop coming to lectures out that way as they usually cant be bothered.

Im not sure about the other lockers around campus. but AUSA have some big ones that you can get. its like $65 for the year. I got one, and they gave me a small one and my helmet didnt fit. some ausa guys saw and said here use this locker instead.

So yea just make sure its the bigger of the 2 lockers. and if its not, go ask for them to change it or something

Oh and can someone show me how to get to that underground parking without going on the footpath. you can get in from princes st, just down the hill from the pedestrian crossing

though you might still have to move some scooters. was a poorly placed streetmagic today

for gear, why not just lock it to the bike? that's what i'm doing

On Princess Street, heading towards AUT, take the last driveway on the left just past the ped crossing to the underground carpark. Go on the path around the barrier arm and through the carpark. you can park over towards the right hand side if you're early ( by the mighty TL ), or over towards the left by the back stairwell on the Gym.

Failling that, I park over between Human Sciences and Music/History. You can get there off Alten Road ( by the Marae ( sp? the Maori place ) ), ride around the barrier arm and along the driveway towards Security. Between History and Human Sciences there is a driveway that goes all the way up to Symond Street. Ride up there and halfway up on the left is where I park ( the not so mighty Honda GB250 ). Reasonably under cover also.

Minutes look good Stephen -

I have a 9 am tomorrow - but I can be around earlier if you need help with setup? After 10, I am free to lurk about for the day.

See y'all tomorrow. I look forward to receiveing my 'patch' and terrorising the parking wardens [one in particular] - seriously though, we could investigate an embroidered patch like KB's one??

We may postpone this until next wednesday, the weather and other clubs are conspiring against us. Rain most likely tomorrow, so fewer bikes will be out there and theres no cover for the signup area. We have a 10-15% chance of getting a table i'd say

I'll decide in a couple of hours, either way, im submitting our affiliation stuff within the hour, and we'll either be up in the quad tomorrow or next wednesday for the SRC thing

Now to fill out these grant application forms :D

I have a briefcase-style table that folds out into about 6 feet long made of plywood and alloy. You can use that if you want.

Yer, im thinking that if we did it next wed we'd have all the stuff at the table as well (various pamplets, some sample gloves and bits). Do it once and do it properly  Dont want to have a mess like last time ;)

SIGNUP STAND POSTPONED UNTIL WEDNESDAY 12TH

We'll be out beside the gym then, postponement will hopefully mean we avoid tomorrow's predicted rain, and give me a chance to put up flyers in the bike parks around uni advertising the club!

Our affiliation application has been sent in, i've attached a couple of the docs that accompanied it for everyone to read.

are we going to have another sign up day?

i think it would be a wise move, pick up the guys/gals we missed the first time around and get more support.

also, when do we plan for our AGM? april sometime to fit in the new financial year??

Yep, i reckon another half-day signup (not on a wednesday) would be a good idea, esp to catch those who don't come in on wed or were just in their own worlds and oblivious to us first time around.

The week after easter, maybe?

Well, i just attended our grants interview, we shall know the outcome tomorrow.

We applied for $550 to cover 1/2 the cost of the Ride Right Ride Safe course in June.

Most seemed fine with the proposal, a couple of bastard questions were asked like "why is your membership fee only $1? Couldnt the money be raised by avenues such as membership fees?"

I said we're not exclusive, and while we could charge more, we want to get people involved. That our events dont usually require funding as they dont cost... and that our sponsors dont provide us with cash, they provide members with deals ;) (Tried to push the idea that we're applying for this to make it more affordable for students, and that we're not here to try and take their money)

Folcan
19th March 2008, 21:53
so If we get that it will be 25 bucks to do the course?

Phurrball
20th March 2008, 09:04
Sounds promising Steve - you put the case well by the sounds of it.

You're right that the club exists to facilitate, enhance, and advocate for motocyclists and motorcycling issues rather than providing facilities (That'd be the bike, and that'd be BYO).

It would be inequitable to raise RRRS funding from the membership fee when not all members will do the course.

Cheers for your efforts :first:

That GN has been awesome so far, already both my sister and I have learnt on it and I am sure there are a couple of other people too....

BUT you will have to beat my sister to it!
Haha she is SOOOO keen for a bike of her own now. And because of her size the GN actually looks like a decent sized cruiser on her.

klyong82

I can teach your sister to ride Hanne.......:innocent: can pillion her on the fireblade too. Show her how a Honda handles beautifully compared to a Suzuki...
