Well thats just plain rude, if your a cop I am disgusted in your attitude.

I would consider your conduct unbecoming of an officer and would politly request you adjust that.

Failing to do so, if I ever have the misfortune to come across you and you maintain your own self-righteousness then I will not accept any of your bullshit, hence you would expect a formal complaint to the IPCA.

My Opinion is that cops take little reguard for the diversities in our culture, to make cude assumptions based on an incomplete responce to what is most likely a failed attempt to perform a simple task as to ascertain wheather a party has criminal intent. Then you my friend have failed the public in doing your duty.

I personally am over the 'Service' the NZ police have delivered of late and you can bet further unjustified procecution of hard working NZ Citizens, permanent residents and visitors to our nation will bring shame and disrupte upon the otherwise 'Honerable Police' unlike police who display behaviour as demonstrated by yourself.

This is an unacceptable attitude in my view and should not be tolerated by any member of the public, no wonder the reputation of NZ Police has fallen so dramatically. Big change needs to happen, we are not happy.

Hahahahahahaha clonk. I just laughed my head off! Then I fell of my chair and belly laughed so hard I puked!

Excellent post, love your work, please, please keep it up.

Bling awarded, you're the best. I should send you some beers..........

If you would, please keep provoking any person you find, that will angrily respond to you, because that just brings the inevitable day closer. With any luck you will be clear of the industry by then, and you can give it the finger and watch the flames from the sidelines. I'll be there pouring petrol on it, as will a huge number of people who have been seriously wronged.

You know, just because you have obviously had a run in with a cop that you feel 'slighted' you, doesn't mean that eveybody has. I had the chance to do a lot of ride alongs a few years ago, one of the reasons I would never consider joining up is thankless gits like you.

haha got some good rep posts there.

Sad that people actually defend that kind of reasoning, or maybe you tuned out after the first 3 words and decided I'm screwed.

That was my point, SOME not most and definatly not all Cops are so arrogant they know what your gonna say before you've finished a sentence.

They'll ask you questions and not even let you answer because they think they know what your gonna say. They've made up their mind to be a prick and its all your fault because they're incapable of separating ther own personal judgements from the facts.

Also being a Top Guy to your buddies makes you good at your job how?
Does that mean if I'm nice to my mates I'll get a promotion for improved performance at work?

Quote 'He just calls it like he see's it and thats fair enough'
nice call, because cops are kitted out with anti-stereo typing , anti-rasict and anti-jelousy glasses. Or are your saying every cop has impecable judgement calling?

This may come as a shock to people who 'dont get out much' (TM). But cops are people too.

The fact that you expect them to be super human perfect people and hold them to such a higher standard than most of us hold ourselves is ridiculous.

The point is you normally can tell if someone is going to be a toss right off the bat. Think of the number of times you make that kind of judgement call each day yourself.

Read DB's post for example in this thread - do you seriously believe that he would come across as reasonable and / or sane when speaking to a officer?

Practice makes perfect and sadly - they get a lot of practice at seeing wankers - they start standing out like dogs balls.

I know of at least one situation where the cops thought they were right, wouldn't listen to reason, and the person who was charged ended up fighting for about 6 months to reach an outcome that should have been reached by anyone that isn't an aboslute fuckwit.

No, I don't think anyone expects them to be super human, we just expect them to not be fuckwits, and to man the hell up and fix their mistakes when they make them instead of stringing it out hoping to wear out the accused.

That's just fucken appalling.

Last time I checked Cops weren't pulling trumped up laws out of their arse. I beleive judges and politicians do that for them?

I can only use personal experience to base my opinion on cops, and you know what , there are good ones and bad ones (Shock Horror). I've had plenty of roadside chats with Police, and only one instance I felt dealt with heavy handedly. The rest were fair or more than fair, and usually reflected the attitude I had towards them.

I won't be "Choosing a Side", "Us and Them" attitudes are basically bigotry - not really my thing.

Ah, that would explain a lot.

I've raged a few times at how people around Howick continually like to flash their lights at me, resulting in a surprised quick look at the speedo only to find that indeed, as I though, I was doing exactly the speed limit - not even the speed limit +9km/h like most cars do around here.

this is one funny thread.. I started to read it to find out just what the law is in regard to flashing headlights at oncoming traffic and ended up drinking a whole bottle of lemonade and eating a bag of malteasers laughing my arse off.. this thread was like a funny movie with scene stealing bit players coming and delivering classic lines before exiting the scene.. if we could make this a stage show we'd have a comedy festival sell out for sure :-) :niceone:

my 2cents worth is flash oncoming traffic if it makes you feel better, I sometimes do and sometimes don't, and also cops are regular folks who just happen to be at work when we hate them the most-like parking wardens and IRD auditors, I bet in your work place there are pricks and there are decent folks who just like cops either rub us the wrong way with their opinions or help us out when we need some change to buy our lunch. it's just that cops are more high profile than the folks at your work in most cases.. take a breath and hear them out before you flame them with your in-depth legal knowledge because it may just be the difference between a friendly warning and a decent fine..
just my 2cents worth, or does that need to be 10cents worth these days??

Sounds like the cardboard patrol cars they trialled around road works.

Did I read they (The PO-lice) were going to trial a system that would identify a vehicle (Plate photo thingy) at the start of a stretch of road (eg desert rd near Turangi) and then again at another point (say Waiouru) and if you completed the distance too quickly (ie must have been speeding) you get a nice letter in the post?

You are correct.

The "safer journeys strategy" has been published. You can expect :

demerit points on speed camera fines (see link)
front number plates for your motorcycle (allowance was made for these in LTAA being passed at the moment under "adhesive plates")
loss of presumption of innocence (required if driver cannot be identified)
point to point cameras (see link)
recording of vehicle location (inherent part of point to point camera systems)
electronic speed control of your vehicle if you are a repeat speed offender (see link)
electronic alcohol interlocks if you are a repeat offender (see link)
electronic driving hours enforcement if you are a repeat offender (see link)
