We really need 'before and after' shots if the competition is to succeed.

Ahhh crap guess I'm out of the running then.

Was about 1cm either side as I've really only been commuting for a while now. But I have no evidence....

When I replaced my Pilot Sport last time, the belts were not quite showing, but she was paper thin. I could see daylight through the carcase of the old tyre. No photos though, so you'll all have to take my word for it...

Had a Michelin Hi-Sport that died (went from ~2mm tread to 0) in the middle of a ride - from Wellington to Kerikeri. By the time I got to where I could get the tyre replaced (albeit with a 2nd hand one to get me home again), the Michelin was SO stuffed, it just folded in on itself in a 'U' shape in the middle (around the outside circumference) of the tyre. Had gone right through the first set of belts/cordage! Scared the crap outa myself when I saw that!

:pinch:yep. I pressed the centre of the tyre with my thumb, said "Holy crap", then took the wheel in the cage to the shop for a replacement.

On my old '84 Nissan Silvia I had worn the tyres down to the steel... Was waiting for new mags to arrive so didn't bother changing them until after that.

Got the new mags, the rear wheels were effectively slicks - oh boy did I have some fun with those in the rain! :D

Had the same thing on the GT-B! They only lasted around 20,000 km because the wheel alignment was fucked :(

Sucked big time - but there you go...
