Guy can't wait to get his new Desmosodici RR, so gets his brother to pick it up, who drops it within 2hrs of it leaving the dealership. Lucky the damage is limited to a few scrapes and tweaking, but I sure as fark wouldn't want to be making that call.

So, it's an expensive bike that someone has managed to scratch - what's so special about that? Heaps of examples of people damaging and writing off very expensive cars and motorcycles.
Sure enough, the guy posting the story behaved like a dickhead with the schadenfreude and all that - but anyone would get pissed off being hassled like that, no matter what bike it was.

Nothing so special, it is just like any other bike in ability to topple over. Just I wouldn't want to have had to made that call. Despite the damage being minimal, it would still take the a bit of the 'new-bike' gloss off of it. And yeah the original poster in that thread was lucky not to have been knocked over.

So what is the deal with these 16s? What makes them so special that OAB is just about loosing his jaw at that comment (mate, better hang on to what's left eh ;) )?
I don't know enough about Ducatis to have a clue...

It's just that Ohio and Texas are sooooooooo far apart ( altho he has his own plane too) and they're both road/track bikes. 'Pa' is one seriously fast mother%$#^&* and uses his toys well. He also has quite a few other nice Eyeties (2 Ghezzi Brians, Duc 1098 Tri, 999S, Multistrada, MV 910R and F4, and I've probably missed a few). He's one of the 'regulars' in Europe:woohoo:

It's comforting to know that this blind madman, with so many very fast motorcycles, is in the states!
What kind of plane? That's what I'm curious about...

Yeah, I'd been all over that long ago if I wasn't at home on the dial-up. So bloody slow :(

It was in relation to him owning a multistrada... If I was on a proper connection I'd find the "motivational" poster describing what I mean (goes something like: At least when you're on it you don't have to look at it.). ;)
But I'll start loading the wiki page, have a bottle of wine and then come back and read it.

He uses the Multi on the shingle that's too fast for his 450 KTM (but I get your drift)

Fuck me, that some bike! (the wine wasn't too bad either...) Thanks for the heads up... Another lovely thing I'll never own - just like the Concorde and an XB70 Valkyre.
Good on him for getting two - I dunno what strings he'd have to pull to manage that but I guess quite a few.
So Chris where do you know Mr. Cruise from ;)

Tamburini? (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=67979) Nah, he's not lacking that. Unless you're looking for a stock standard version, MVnut's is shall we say upgraded from the standard 'you couldn't own me if you tried' Tamburini.
