Hi,

I've got a 94 vfr400 and I'm wanting to get the suspension set up for my weight and height. I'm 6ft 2" and 93kg and am wanting to get the seat height higher, as when I get on it I find it sits a little low. Does anyone know of a good place in Palmerston North or the Manawatu where I can get this done?

Cheers,

James

The standard spring rate is too soft for you, that is the first thing to address, and then you will have to balance the bike with firmer springs in the front. Aftermarket rear spring availability is very patchy or even non existent for such bikes. In the first instance the groundwork has to be done by removing the current spring and measuring its free length and coil i.d. at each end.

Ok great thanks for that Robert. Do you know anyone in the Manawatu who would be able to do this?

Neil Busch at AFC Motorcycles, he will suss out and then converse with me re ( possible but not guaranteed ) spring options. Note that some adaptation machining may be required.
