Anyone use the squeeze, release, squeeze, release method when filling up? Im pretty sure that you can score about a cup or 2 of gas per fillup for free this way. I seems quite alot still comes out after you stop pumping.
I'll do it if Im not in a hurry.

Why dont you tip the hose up as well to get the end of the fuel
youll find the fuel is metered from inside the machine
If you took a fuel can ,since its on the ground you should get about half a litre more fuel that someone else payed for ,as the hose will drain

Cue McJim....... he should have some tips on squeezing every last drip of petrol out, getting the last bit of sauce out of the bottle, reusing the last remnants of bath soap as washing powder etc etc.

The amount of fuel in the hose is minimal. As for squeezing and realeasing, not sure, will have to give it a try, but I would think that it wouldn't make too much of a difference.
Considering that 2 cups is half a litre, is it worth the extra time to save $80c?

Actually, chaps, here a a secret.
Fuel is metered inside the pump, but cutoff with a vavle in the handle you put in your car.
Tiping the hose up works only to entertain servo staff. :)

Bingo, I used to work for a company that installed and repaired fuel pumps, got shown how the basics work by some of the staff there.
You wont get any more out of the "hose" as the cut off is in the nozzle, but if you tip it and give it a good shake you will get as much out of the nozzle as possible.

No, you may not get it for free, but as you are paying for it you may as well squueze every last drop out of the hose.
Mstrs always does it (I seldom fill my bike anyway), he's Scottish too...

Does that apply when the gas is cut off by the pump when you hit $20 or whatever prepay amount and the valve is still wide open in the nozzle?
