Well, as part of the Cape Caper Challenge (to Reinga and back), I scored a nice little Suzuki A100 1981 bike from 'tardme!

Did the pick up yesterday from Palmy (flew in on a ATR72, 7.05am redeye express) and was met at the airport by Ian, the seller and a darn nice chap!

Did the post office thang, and off I tootled towards Taupo! Riding and learning the "new" bike was a blast, and as Ixion sez ... learning the art of conserving speed was a must.

Anyway, by the time I got to Taupo, it was just after 1pm ... I had beaten the guys riding down to meet me! (Ixion, Donor, Maverick, Sprag) I waited a hour for them, we had late lunch and trucked off with Meeky_Mouse and all was good...

Until "Pippi" started to act up! :weep: (oh yeah, the name Pippi just popped into my head when I was riding out from Fielding)

Left the bike at Meeky's mouse house (sorry couldn't resist! :sweatdrop) and pillioned back to Auckland on Mav's SV (damn good ride!)

Today, I borrowed Donor's cage and hired a trailer from Hireafool and picked up Pippi from Taupo. Meeky was kewl and helped heaps with loading her up (Pippi, not Meeky! Sheesh! :oi-grr:

Eventful ride back, helped a farmer drop his broken down quad back to his farmhouse and gave some gasgas to a biker who had run out of it! :woohoo: Karma wheel completed!

Well, Donor and I got out Mr Blocky and Mr Mallet and proceeded to wring life into Pippi, a bit of two-stroke oil, a tweak on a nipple and she fired up! Rode her around South Auckies a bit to get her familiarised with our roads and she was zootling around no worries! :scooter:

Mucho thanks to that man Donor! He is the bomb!

And watch out for more adventures from Pippi and her plonker of an owner gijoe1313! :shit:

Pic1 : double hard bastard on a double hard bitch!
Pic2 : Why! I do declare Miss Pippi, I am entranced with your body!
Pic3 : Donor's cup doth runneth over in his gargre praked with bikes
Pic4 : Pippi's close up, but Rosie is not amused...

Nice write up man, will be a blast to take it in the CC challenge.

Will look forward to it infact, good ol' two smokers.

If'n I wasn't such a double hard bastard, I'd almost be inclined to blush with them accolades!

Forunately, I am a double hard bastard, so that's crisis averted!

That is one nifty little chainsaw GI - and seeing the look of sheer joy and glee on the face of a certain Zeocen was well worth the trip to his gargre.

I want one dammit... (an A100 folks, NOT a Zeocen...)

I'm regressing, but I digress! All in aid of a good cause, 'tis a clever ruse to ensure that not even I shall know what bike I get next! (there is a RZ350 on offer....)

but you don't count 'cause you ride Eyetie stuff, 1 gear forward, 5 in reverse! :stupid:

And I think I know my buying patterns now ... I'm collecting the Alphabet!

I told y' we could have done it by the roadside.

Mr Block and Mr Mallet are certainly an indispenable part of Mr Donor's workshop armoury. What worries me , is where did he acquire this ? He is an ambo , I have this vision of him freeing up broken patients with Mr Block and Mr Mallet.

So where do I start? Noticed you had some wire stock and other gubbins... please give me a list so I can ensure I have the right stock o'tools n'supplies at hand in order to facilitate continuous forward moving velocity!

Hush you, I defer to the greater fount of knowledge that is represented by the son of Ares, scion of Thessaly and forever doomed to keep spinning on a whirling wheel of fire! ... No? The interdweeb is your friend and enemy! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ixion

However I do note that you have taken upon the mantle of understudy, apprentice, dogsbody, lackey, flunkey, padawan etc... to the mythologically named one!

Yes, muwahahah! :girlfight: Actually I was the second in line to email the seller about it, the first buyer fell through even though he was a local in Fielding... so's ups steps I!

Offered the amount of 850 squiddies and received the reply in the affirmative! Lovely chap to deal with ... and off I rode into the ride blue yonder on her! He even chucked in the first tank o'gas free!

I think there will be a shortage of little bikes due to the madness that is KB!

Madness?

This is KKKKKKKKBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB! :spanking::mad::chase::Pokey:

The bouncy springy forks on that A100 make it strangely fun and comfortable to ride :O
And the squeaky sound of it moving around when the engine is cut is priceless.

You should see the reactions of cagers when I do it next to them .. or behind them... and they look around to see if something is wrong with their car!

I've been able to do wheelstands for the first time ever! By lifting the front end up ... priceless when you see the looks on people around ya!

I want to ride into town, wait for the lights for people to cross, then I will dismount and walk it around like a bicycle, go over the road and keep on tootling! :devil2: Will be doing it just to psych the cagers! :msn-wink:

Fantastic. Good on ya GiJoe. You are an inspiration for bikers around the globe.

Hope I can see pippi around sometime. Now you need matching riding gear to pippi's beautiful blue skin. I'm so curious what you are going to come up with :)

Looks like a good un.Don't kill it on your ride cause in s few years there will be punters around willing to pay big $ for it as a "collector's bike"
Just be carefull on the road cause I've noticed that it's often the little bikes that bite you.Something to do with the idea that they are so small and gutless that you can ride them how you like.

Mallets sound good - I was trying to take off my rear wheel and was following the instructions in the book, but where it said 'draw out the shaft' it should have said 'swear a lot, get some vice grips, bash your thumb really badly, srpay a can of CRC, swear some more, wreck your shirt, bend a nail, etc etc etc....

Considering my fondness as a collector, I don't think I will be able to get rid of Pippi... she is my first suzuki after all! I now have a bike to go down to the local shops with! Thinking of putting a shopping basket on it! :sunny:

Heehee~! I blame Jeaves, he had the bike and went around for extra laps in the 'hood... obviously enough for you to start, go far enough and then run out to make it a pain!

Meh, no worries, you put all the weight you lost back on with the BK feed! :p :devil2:

But it does worry me how much you actually like to ride Pippi! (Oh owner of a Blackbird!)

I scored a nice little Suzuki A100 1981 bike from 'tardme!

My dad (many moons ago) had a 1970 Suzuki AC100 ('apparently' its the super-suped up version with swept back exhaust ) bought it brand new for the price you probably paid for yours off trade me .

Anyway he tells me that he took his one up to the cape "back in the day"; when the road wasn't sealed and even got it out to spirits bay!

He's interested to see how it goes on the challenge so let us know when you come back.

I rode this bike tonight, and it is a fuggin' peach of a motorcycle. In all seriousness, from GSXR600 to BMW R60, I have never ridden such a comfortable motorcycle. Floating along the road on the bedspring suspension, every control and point of contact falling right to hand. It's no slowpoke either; get it into top gear and roll on the throttle from 40kph -- it just winds up, ever so smooth.

Despite the square, cracked OEM tyres, it corners nicely as well. Justin's going to be the most comfortable relaxed bloke out there going north.

Yep, clip-ons, and detachable lights need to be fitted, then it's going bucketing :D

Such a happy, joyful little motorcycle. I could commute on that every day. Perfect bike for the diminutive Miss X?

Fee Fi Fo Fum! Who be thread dredging? :devil2:

It goes wicked fast .. 80kph .. though after I heat seized Pippi, she now does 90kph!

Downhill, with a tail wind, flat on the tank, good for 100kph! Scary fun! :woohoo:

Parts are cheap as, brand new in Thailand and on ebay, can rebuild engine for $100! :baby: Fr'instance, gaskets for all of bike $8, new fuel petcock $6, piston $20 ... oh yeah baby! Pippi will live forever!

That bike on trademe is a gem! Yellow! Meh meh fooking neeeeeeoooooooww! Buy it and I will ride it up from Christchurch for you! Will pay my own airfare down and ferry and gas and oil and fuel and .... :innocent:
